stupid things we do

Wondering what other stupid things people do/have done?

I regularly pull up take my keys out of the ignition and put them in my handbag without even thinking I have to get out the car and lock it so I have to ferry my handbag for my keys.

I'm forever annoying myself by looking for my glasses when I'm wearing them

I've panicked when I can't feel my mp3 player in my pocket even when there is still music in my ears...also looked for my glasses when they are on my head.

The other day I asked my friend what she was working over Easter when I know full well she's on maternity leave.

We were going on holiday, as we were leaving the house I couldn't shake the feeling I'd forgotten something. It was only as I was dragging my case up the drive and getting wet feet I realised I still had my slippers on.

I'm as blind as a bat but when I go in the shower I never click to leave my glasses in one designated place so I spend ages looking for them :-/

I'm bad for forgetting to take my glasses off before I get in the shower.

I called my work mobile from my own mobile from my handbag in asda the other day, was shouting "hello" and wondering why I could hear a checkout. Forever accidental dialling.

    I lose my carkeys.

Use the light on my phone to try and find my phone.

    Overall I'm a bit of a nightmare!

I do that too! I've done a raft of ridiculous things, including the glasses one, and the looking for my phone when it's in my hand, I've also done things like put the cereal bowl in the fridge and the milk in the dishwasher!

I have a habit of taking the sky remote into the kitchen with me when I make a cuppa.... And it ends up in the fridge.

I once spent ages looking for my mobile phone only for H to ask what I was looking for. He then kindly informed me I should look in the hand that was held up to my ear - yup, there it was ?

I always used to lose my keys, lock them in the car or the house. On one occasion I managed to lock them in the car at Hever Castle. We merrily went round the castle, had a lovely day and returned to the car which was, fortunately, still there with the keys still hanging from the ignition - that resulted in a call to the AA and a long wait in the car park.

I'm much better now, mainly because I have to lock the car manually and it won't lock without the key and I tend to hang my keys on the key board as soon as I get in now, so remember to pick them up on the way out.

Last night I went to bed wearing my pjs. This morning I woke up naked - I have no memory of taking them off, there wasn't any nookie so H didn't take them off for me. I just hope I didn't go for a walk!! (not really a stupid thing I do, but thought it may amuse the hitcher community!!!)

I am forever getting up to go and do/get something from the kitchen, but by the time I've got there I've forgotten what it is, so I just stick the kettle on instead.

I regularly take my clothes off to get in the shower after work and nearly put my underwear down the toilet rather than in the wash basket. Have managed to just stop myself every time but one day it will happen. What a loony!

I quite often go upstairs or out to the kitchen and shout to W "What am I here for?"

I would be here forever if listed all the stupid things I do.

I do the keys thing all the time. Recently i've spilled soup all over my work desk. I'm also not very good at putting my handbrake on when parking - and once or twice I've parked on a slope! In general I'm not very good remembering where I've parked.

    I do that sometimes!

I have been known on occasions to try to open my front door with my car key and vice versa.

My H's bathroom has a drainage problem so at the moment we're both using mine. This morning I decided to brush my teeth earlier than usual to give him more time in the bathroom (I usually sort of nip in and out). I put the toothpaste on the brush and came *this close* to applying it to my face. Sigh.

I've put OH's post in the fridge instead of on the table in the kitchen.

I tried to lock our front door with my phone... ?

Most of the time I get in bed for the night and then realise I've left my phone and/or glass of water in the front room so i have to get back up and get them. I'm constantly putting things down in weird places and "losing" them - keys, glasses, books, essay notes, cups of tea... its become a running joke. also, i walk into walls and furniture, to the point i almost always have bruises on my thighs or upper arms. I basically have no spatial awareness.

We once left for work in the morning and realised our house keys had been in our door all night...

I once spent a whole evening looking for a hat. I gave up, thinking I'd left it on the bus. Opened the fridge for a drink and the hat was staring back at me.

Thank God I am not the only one - it has happened twice to me a few years ago and still this is what husband thinks he should throw into introductions to random people

Tonight I wore fancy dress for the first time in many many years, got myself a vodka for a little Dutch courage, slipped on a wet patch and sprained my ankle.

On the plus side, I managed to land my drink standing up so only lost half of it!!!

The idiocy which frustrates me most has to be, going to the bathroom in daylight so not bothering with the light, only to then switch it 'off' or rather obviously on when I leave......... genuinely that hacks me off no end and makes me feel a right tit!
