Stupid Wedding Day Worries - Share yours here!

The Sock Chicken, 25 May, 2010 at 21:45 Posted on Planning 0 35

Inspired from my nervous thread...............

I am worried about needing the loo while I have my dress on, and I'm not talking about a wee (sorry if TMI)

I am worried about my shoes rubbing so much that my feet ache before we are even done at the church!

I am worried about being sick after dinner (like Gillsy was, and like I did after the food tasting)

I am worried about someone standing on my dress or spilling something down it

I am worried I will look like a midget next to my bridesmaids who are all taller than m

I think now I definitely belong in the looney brides club!!

Are you delibrately trying to make yourself feel worse ?

I'm worried about tripping over my dress or my little boy putting sticky handprints all over it.

    I am worrying about...

treading on my dress and tripping over, spilling something down it, how I will go to the toilet, people not turning up, someone kicking off or causing an argument, cancellation of booked things (cars, photographer etc)

    Loads really ?

I'm getting married outside. When I arrive I will be behind the guests up high. I'm scared of getting out the car, seeing them all sitting there and me totally freaking out! It's not like they're all in a room and the first time I see them is when I start walking down the aisle!

I share lots of your worries about the dress. I worry about spilling food down it & tripping over it. I'm worried about the music not working or no one enjoying the band, or people not liking the food. I think my main worry is that nothing will be ready on time & that it will look half finished.

I share all your worries and more. What if the family members don't get on (H2B's side are very outspoken and.......eccentric), what if I freak out on the day, what if it's raining, what if I don't fit into the dress, what if I spill food on me, what if the registrar is awful, what if I trip over, how do I go to the toilet, what if I need to break wind!!!

ARGHGHGHGH!!!! Weddings are stressful Smiley smile

    I've got a couple too.

One is someone spilling something down my dress. I have a 2yr old, 5yr old, 7yr old and 10yr old, nieces and nephews there. So could happen.

Two is the dress not fitting me right, as I have a kidney disorder which can sometimes cause me to bloat out to the point my eyes are like slits (similar to hair dye accident look.)

Third is the 'TOILET ISSUE' which I think most brides are. As I have IBS and can sometimes go for days without going (number 2, sorry.) but scared that on my day because of nerves or stress I will need to alot.

Thanks for the good advise there. Teehee suggested immodium on my other thread. I think I will get some in and also some rescue remedy. I'm not sure why I was sick after the food tasting. It was all yummy food. I don't know if it was because I had been on a strict diet for 3 weeks before, with no rich or creamy foods. It could have been eating too much, or eating fast, or the wine mixed with rich creamy food followed by coffee followed by more wine. I've noticed recently that if I drink alcohol while eating I end up feeling sick. Not sure why! Think I'll stick with water on the day and probably wont eat too much.

As for my shoes, I do need to get them out and start wearing them round the house soon!

I am worried that R's step mum will turn up - she knows the date and the location - she could so easily do it. She would ruin everything.

I am worried that my dress will not fit

I am worried that my dress will look awful with my BM's as my dress is cream and their dresses are white

I am worried about being bloated - I suffer really badly from bloating

I am worried about my arms - they need to be mga toned on the day - not looking forward to all the weights I need to life in order to get my arms toned.

My wedding is a long way off but I already have a list of anxieties ?

Walking into the ceremony room involves walking down a big staircase infront of all the guests so I am already worried about falling as I am MEGA clumsy (I asked the staff when I went for a look round if this had ever happened to a bride and they all said no - yeah right!!).

I am worried about a break out of spots as this always happens when I'm nervous and same goes for the eczema on my arms which always flares up under stress.

I am also worried that I will come on my period on the day (sorry if TMI ?)

I am worried that people won't dance as this is my pet hate at a wedding - empty dancefloor

Zippy - my bridesmaids are all taller than me too - don't worry everyone will still be looking at you as the bride no matter what the shape/size of your bridesmaids

    I've got lots of little worries;

The style of my dress and my bridesmaids dresses won't match

The colour of the bridesmaids dresses and the mens ties won't match and will look odd

I will cry from beginning to end and look horrible on all the photos

    People won't turn up

The people who do turn up won't dance

Things will get spilt on my dress

However my biggest worry is my Grandad won't make it to the wedding, he's very poorly and is convinced he'll have left us by October x

Mostly that people won't turn up and that I'll throw a huge strop when getting ready because I'll be nervous and there'll be too many people in the room.

I worried about all of the above , but my absolute fear is time, not enough time, being late , i hate being late, im the kind of person who would rather be half an hour early, than 2 minutes late, it makes me stress out, i timed the hairdresser and the makeup lady today so i can get a better idea of times on the day , tragic i know lol

He he, good thread! Mine is a bit gross but i'm worried about getting all sweaty!!! Even if it's not hot (which hopefully it will be warm!) I worry that with all the rushing around, and nerves etc I might get a bit hot and bothered...anyone know of any steel strength deoderants?!

My other worry is about my lovely mummy who will be with her sisters but my Dad isn't here anymore and I worry about her being ok - she fell over at our engagement party cos she was a bit tipsy bless her, and I worry about her being okay on the day with everything that's going on!

The biggest ones for me are:

    1) Tog not showing.

    2) DJ not showing

    3) Not having enough time to get ready

    4) Upset stomach (TMI - Immodium are not an option for me really, or only as a final final resort as they give me stomach pains the other way within hours! Preferential but not ideal.)

My Only worries are that OH's family will get drunk and kick off as none of them are in the wedding party.

Or my Brother will start a fight with My cousin as her and her family didn't attend my other brothers Funeral because they were going to watch a wrestling match. Despite booking it after we told them the funeral date.

We are having a civil ceremony and at my venue you walk down the aisle, sit down whilst the registra says a few bits then stand back up for the ceremony. Im really scared that when i sit down in my dress im going to miss the chair and fall over and end up with my legs in the air

so worried that i have now told teh venue i will not be sitting down except to sign the register and for them to take the chair away xx

    I'm worried about:

    1. OH's Mum - she's a bitter, lonely woman who sees things through the bottom of a wine bottle..
    2. OH's Stepmum - she is convinced when OH's Dad sees his ex he will run off with her!!! (totally won't happen but she's super paranoid)
    3. OH's Dad - has a tendency to drink waay too much at social gatherings and fall asleep. He fell asleep at a mate's wedding and it really bugs me.
    4. (should I tell his family the wedding date has changed?!!)
    5. Also worried about looking like a heffalump in my dress and people whispering "such a shame she isn't skinny" (although I am working my fat a$$ off at the gym)
    6. Concerned people won't enjoy the day
    7. Worried about walking in my shoes without appearing to have a problem (they have big heels and I never wear anything higher than kitten heels)
    8. Scared I'll drop food on my dress
    9. Also worried about going to the loo (Although I hear straddling the loo facing forwards it the easiest way to pee in a big dress?!!)
    10. Want to make sure OH & I enjoy the day and don't just have to chat to Great Aunties with questionable facial hair all night.

    Aaaaand breathe............

My biggest worry is timing. I'm already losing sleep over it and I know I won't sleep the night before as I'm not going to be in my own bed and I'll be so scared of sleeping in that I won't get any at all. plus spilling something down my dress. I seem to do it on a daily basis and we're having paella so it will leave a massive stain if I do spill it down me! ☹️

I absolutey swear by DRICLOR... I got mine from online last year & it is the only thing that keeps you 100% dry

You put it on last thing at night & keep it on overnight, wash it off in the morning & do this for say 2 days- it stings like jiggery at first but it is amazing. It does not smell of anything

You could dance around in the middle of a fire & you still would not get sweaty wearing this

I think it costs about £10 but so so worth it

A bit off topic but just realised who you are lamby.... doh!! took me a while to put two & two together!!

    Debbie

    My worries are as follows:

My mum only needs one glass of red wine to get a bit loud. She's not a drunk, just a complete lightweight! And of course everybody will want to buy her a drink....

I'm worried about spilling down my dress. In an attempt to combat this slightly, tomato soup is strictly off the menu. And I plan on asking the venue for many, many napkins. For one bridezilla moment, I did consider banning red wine. That would be ridiculous but would mean no red wine stains, and it would also solve the mother problem!

I have weak ankles and was worried about falling. This fear was so big that I'm sacrificing the high heels and looking for some gorgeous flats instead.

Crying during the vows and readings. I only have to read them myself and I well up. And I am SO not a crying in public person!
