Where are you getting married Jalapeno? From your ticker you've probably got most things sorted but I got married just outside Ipswich if you're still looking for any supplier recommendations.

We're getting married in my parish church (St Mary at Stoke) and the reception is in Copdock at the Cameo Hotel. We've got most things sorted except for the videographer which we've (read: I've) been umming and ahhhing about for months. The FB page has been a godsend and I've now got 2 videographers in the frame so that's more fun and games. Did you have signs anywhere for your wedding? That's the only thing I've been thinking about that I haven't actually done anything about. You know, like a "Mr and Mrs X Wedding this way" kinda thing? Is there a supplier you know of that does that sort of thing?

I know both of your venues well, I'm a Stoke Park girl born and bred. I had ballet lessons in your church hall for about 13 years and had my sixth form leaving ball at your reception venue (although it was called something else then I think??) I would definitely say get a videographer, it's so lovely to look back on the day in motion so to speak! I can't recommend anyone local but it sounds like you've got that in hand. Re: signs we had a lawn sign directing people to the church and a banner for outside of our reception venue as both were pretty out of the way. We got them from Vistaprint for a very reasonable price, they always have offers on and you've got time left so you only have to pay for the slowest delivery time which is much cheaper. I'll be honest and say I didn't expect much for the price but they were excellent and did the job!

I always think I'm going to know everyone from Ipswich. I actually moved from Stoke Park when I was around 12 to Bramford and then I left Suffolk totally for uni in 2002. I still feel like a Suffolk girl though, hence the wedding back home. We stayed at the Satlhouse Harbour along with lots of our guests and a lot of our London friends kept saying how surprised they were that Ipswich wasn't a total dump. I didn't know whether to be flattered or offended! I love what they've done with the waterfront though.

I think it's lovely down there now. There are some parts of Ipswich that I'd rather guests didn't see but I'm always quite proud to show off the waterfront (Isaac's etc). They've got their own wedding venue there now, it's lovely although the reception is upstairs in the main bar and if you want to go to the toilet or whatever you have to walk through the pub with everyone in it which I didn't fancy much.

I love Suffolk and hope we can stay here for ever although with OH in the Army (based at Wattisham) that decision isn't ours!

This i am, married at Belsted Brook not long ago!! Live nr there too!

I am doing wedding cakes currently, i did Nursebrides recently andhave another for Augsut, not an official supplier as of yet but will be one day!!!

I'm a Claydon bird, but Iguess that technically that counts as Ipswich??!

Doddyclare spent the first 5yrs of my life in Claydon (Bacon Road when ther used to be a Spa shop lol) , we're not actually too far from there!

Search Facebook for Suffolk Wedding Page - The host is a lady called Michelle Richardson who will add you, then you can get stuck in.

There's a section on photography in the notes page of that site and there's about 20 suppliers who you can look at. There's also an event where some suppliers offer a discount for booking via that page so if you're calling any of them, mention the page.

For our wedding, we had Paul Peek (Peek photography). He's based near Lowestoft but absolutely fantastic! All the guests said how unobtrusive he was and the pictures were fab. I too was worried about my double chin, but he did an amazing job.
