Suggest a mini moon to me.

*Mini*, 18 May, 2011 at 17:50 Posted on Planning 0 7

We had our heart set on Morrocco but the hotel we like keeps going up and up in price. We may wait for a last min deal but I really want to book something to look forwards too.

The criteria are;

Sunny and hot [above 25c]

4 nights in September [end]

No more than £250 each

Thats about it- what do you suggest?

    Egypt is quite cheap at the moment and the Sharm area is not really affected by the political shenanigans in Cairo

    Turkey I love, can often get cheap deals there and as they are not in the EU spending is cheaper...

    You could try the Canary Islands - I just had a quick look on Expedia and there's quite a lot of choice in Lanzarote. The Costa del Sol should still be hot that time of year too, and there are plenty of deals for under £250 for September.

    Also, if you don't mind spending £310-£350 each you could go a bit further away to Crete.

    Hope you find something you love, have fun choosing Smiley smile

    We went to a very cheap last minute place, I wouldn't necessarily recommend the hotel (staff were great, hotel was barely a 2*!) but it was a very turkish area, the place we were in was Akylyar, near Turgetreis. We could get a bus into Turgetreis which was about 20 minutes away and had all the bars and restaurants but was a bit more English. We flew into Bodrum which is the south west peninsula.

    If you want to avoid Brits Abroad, don't go to Marmaris!!

    There are some lovely areas but the names escape me right now... I will have a lookie and see if I can remember.

    Have you tried Tunisia?

    Also, Budapest is beautiful as a city break, not sure how the weather would be though.

    Morocco is lovely, especially if you go outside the big citys, worth having a look for other acomodation, its really cheap when you are over there too.]

    Re Turkey Olu Deniz is nice, not too brits abroad but in all honesty it is still a tourist place it is not very rustic or cultural but is really pretty with a laid back vibe as opposed to a party one
