    Hiya,

i havent actually hired the suits yet, but the appointment is made!

I looked around everywhere to get a good deal and have ended up booking with Burtons as they do the cheapest package i could find. (£50)

If you're looking for lounge suits BHS are doing a great deal at the minute. A suit, the shirt and shoes for £70 - to buy. The suits are nice ones too.

    Hi There,

Just thought I might chime in if that is OK.

There are a variety of different hire services for suits out there and they will vary in price and quality.

Obviously when hiring something you are totally reliant on quality of service. ie: How well you are measured and fitted, how well those orders are then processed and the finished quality of the items you receive.

I would advise researching different services first. Googling for reviews and customer opinions. I would then advise visiting some shops to found out for yourself the differences in quality of service and product. I would also advise NEVER paying for a product unless you can see the quality of the EXACT product you will receive. (otherwise you could receive an item of clothing which has been worn excessively)

The best deal is not always the cheapest. (although sometimes it is)

    Thanks

    Marc

We are using Formally Yours - which is an online service. You need to measure yourself and you place the order online. However, you can also visit one of their shops to try the suits on if you want - we live in Bath but visited the shop in Coventry when we were up in that direction anyway. The service from them so far has been fantastic - very efficient and professional. When we visited the shop, they were very organised and really seemed to know what they were doing. The quality of the suits was also very good.

    I have a quick question if that's ok -

When you hire suits, do you have to leave a deposit with them as well incase there is a problem with the suits when you return them?

My fiance keeps going on about it - saying that when he was an usher they all had to pay so much which they got back on return of the suits.

If this is the case - how much have people had to pay?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Most places charge a 'Returnable Security Deposit' this will vary. I think Moss Bros currently charge £100.00 per suit. Some Charge £150.00 some only £50.00.

These deposits are no different from when you hire a car or book a hotel. They normally take the form of a swipe of your credit card for the full amount. (4 suits : £400.00 deposit). The deposit is then returned when the suits are returned.

    I hope this helps,

    Thanks

    Marc

We used 1860, and the men went to try them on Tuesday, and they were all fine, and for some reason don't know if this is the norm, but they let them take them there and then, so another thing I thought I would have to do on the Friday before has been ticked off the list.

We paid £79 each for suit, cravat, shoes, cuff links and shirt.

They had to take a swip of my card as a deposit, but that was only for OH suits as they all went at different times to collect them.

    Hi there,

We used mobile hire attire, they are on the web. We had groom, best man, two dads, and two nephews, they all had three piece suits, cravats, pins, cufflinks, socks, shoes, and white shirts, at a cost of £500.00. The guy came to our house to do fittings, very very pleasant guy, everything we asked they provide, it was a very good service.?

We're hiring 6 suits from a local menswear shop and the price is nearly double what we had budgeted for. We'd originally gone to Moss Bros for a look but they made such a mess of getting one suit in for OH to try on and we didn't feel like we could trust them to get the entire order right. It wasn't the fact that they'd made a mistake on his sizes, anyone can make a mistake but their customer service was just shocking and they really couldn't give a shit. So, we've paid far more than we wanted to but it's well worth it as OH gets exactly the suit he wanted and the quality is far superior to what Moss Bros were showing us. The staff were also incredibly helpful and we have total faith in them getting everything right.
