Suit Hire Help

The Sock Chicken, 20 April, 2008 at 16:08 Posted on Planning 0 4

Hi, 2 questions.
1) Not actually thinking of having ushers as such but H2B wants to choose 2 friends to hand out OOS and direct to each side of church etc. Do they need to have suits to match the rest of the men in wedding party? How about H2B's best friend who is driving me to the church?

2) My Dad lives in France, how am I going to sort out his suit?

Question one: is that not all an usher does anyway...? I would think that as long as they had button holes or something to somehow link them to the rest of the wedding party and so people can distinguish them...

question two: Get himto post his measurementsis prob the best you can do! Can he comeover for a long weekend a few months before the wedding to make sure everything fits?

We aren't having ushers but all the men in the wedding party, so the groom, best man, father of the bride and father of the groom are all having matching suits etc.
We got ours from Moss Bross in House of Fraser, I think they were £80 roughly.

    Hi?

    1. I do not think you have to everyone in matching suits, I think a button-hole would be fine. It is really down to how you and your OH and how you would like the mens wedding party to look in the pictures.

    2. This is fairly common these days and most wedding parties seem to be spread out all over the world. This is how we deal with this situation: We ask for a set of measurements, simple ones like Chest, waist, inside-leg, outside-leg, seat, height, neck/collar. And then make a provisional booking with those measurements. And then have the person fit the suit when they arrive (a day or so before the wedding) and do any alterations as necassary there and then.

    I hope this helps,

    Thanks
    Marc

Thanks, that helps loads. Was worrying about this a little as if we have ushers too then one of them lives in Yorkshire (we are in Cambs) and the friend who is driving me there is in Scotland. Was mainly worried about Dad though. ?

    HI,
    1) IT'LL BE GREAT IF THEY HAD MATCHING OUTFTS BUT IT'S NOT IMPERATIVE!
BUTTONHOLES TO MATCH THE REST OF THE GROOM PARTY WILL DO.

    2) GO TO ANY MENSWEAR HIRE COMPANY AND TELL THEM YOUR PLIGHT. YOU SHOULD BE GIVEN A LIST OF MEASUREMENTS WHICH WOULD DETERMINE THE SIZE ETC TO BE HIRED AND YOU WILL BE TOLD WHEN YOUR FATHER SHOULD COME IN FOR FITTING IF NEED BE!!!!
    GOOD LUCK!!!!
