Productive weekend for me.so far this weekend, i have booked my wedding night hotel for us and also some family, h2b has picked his suit, although over budget for the lot of them by about 500 quid. oops. but he loves it so some how we will find trhe money i suppose. h2b also picked and ordered his wedding ring. and iv chosen1 althought the shop only had it in 9carot gold so am waiting for them to come back to me tommorow with a price for it in 18 carot, thats what i need to go with my e-ring. so all in all quite productive. also recieved an invite sample which i think im going to be going with as well, and they are coming in under budget which is good.

next on my list is the bm dresses which il be sorting out at somepoint in january as well. and cake. apart from that all the major things are booked, they just now need to be paid for-the stressfull bit-.

what have we all got left to do?

I've been very productive this weekend, a bit pleased with myself!!!

We've decide on suits and cravats colour/style etc. We gave notice just before xmas so hopefully we should get those bits of paper (i forget what they're called!) this week. ALso got our ceremony pack through from East Sussex which is exciting.

Most excitingly i think i've decided on BM dresses though.........finally!!! It's taken ages and ages and i've changed my mind a bit about colour but i love them.

Got shoes down to a choice of 2 and found a cake we love so going to phone round for quotes etc tomorrow.

    Phew i think that's all!!!!!!

You all put me to shame with how organised you are, hopefully a trip to meet with the venue in a few weeks will get me going again. The bain of my planning so far is trying to sort out bridesmaids dresses. Lilac hasn't exactly been in the shops recently (& the wedding shops are too expensive), wanted to get them sorted before I make my invites as wanted to match the lilac, hopefully the new spring collections will be out soon!

My dress is in far earlier than planned but still gonna wait till the easter hols to collect it then arrange fittings.

Oooh everyone's so organised! I was hoping to go and sort out my dress, but the shop's in Sheffield and we're in Warrington and the roads over the Pennines are closed because of the snow! Can't really do much about shoes, accessories, flowers etc until the dress is sorted, which is frustrating because I thought I might see something in the sales. Finally got the save the date cards done, and have also made a good start on the invitations. Registry Office and venue for evening reception are booked, but that's about it.

Ha, thank goodness for quartz, the rest of you are all frighteningly organised.

Well, got my adult BM dresses, registered at the town hall, booked registrar, venue and caterer, booked our first night hotel, ordered my dress (should be coming in end of Feb), ordered our rings (should be coming in end of Jan), booked our photographer, booked the dj, hairdresser.

Top of list - florist - meeting potential this week.

Also to do kiddies bm dresses, my shoes (I've seen the ones I want, think I'll just order them,) undies, cake decs - I'm going to buy one and just decorate it myself, pianist, and transport - I really want to just book a big car rather than a "bridal" one exclusive. And I'm making up my mind on a videographer. I was just going to ask my b-in-law to tape it, but apparantely the sound's not very good if you do that, oh and make up artist. Aargh, scary when you see how much there is left! Oh, oops and invites and boy's clothes - but that's OH's responsibility so I'm going to presume it's all in hand...

Well i have written the cheque to pay the remaining balance for the band and will send that today, we have a meeting with the wedding coordinator at our venue at the end of the week and im planning to call the piper this week to discuss the music that we would like him to play, i also need to contact the shop who are making my sisters dress to see how things are going, as it was supposed to be done before christmas but the material had a huge black mark all the way through it so they had to order more.

OMG its all seeming so real now!!!!!!!!!!!!! x

Oooh love and hate these threads - love seeing what every1 else has been up to but it really stresses me out too cos i am so unorganised (especially compared to my date twins!!)

OK, done over xmas break: got our wedding rings back from engravers, my dress is here yay!, chosen invite design (need to order), chosen BM dress design (need to order), got DJ and string trio quotes (need to look at budget and confirm with supplier), trying to get lighting quotes...

To do ASAP: photographer (got in touch with a few and trying to arrange meetings - VERY stresse d about this), give notice (our registry office seemed to think this wasn't urgent but after reading some recent threads on here i am worried now!), book hotel for the night and book makeup person.

ugh reading this makes me realise we made a bunch of decisions recently but need to implement asap!

well done all u organised ladies xx

We gave notice back in October, it does have to be displayed for 15 days, and is valid for 12 months from the day you give notice so you neednt worry too much! x

I never seem to think I have anything to do until I read these threads!

I need to chase registry office of where we're getting married to find out a little more info on how we choose our vows etc. Also, venue wedding license runs out in April so need to make sure they have renewed that!

Need to book make up artist (was going to be using OH's cousins wife but she lives a long way away from my parents house where I'm getting ready and as she has two children as well I don't feel it's fair to ask her to come all that way and have to travel back home before going on to venue iyswim? It would mean about a 40/50 mile round trip for her and that's before her getting to the venue! Though she did say she didn't mind...)

Men's suits in the list for this month.

And then pay for everything. The least fun part of wedding planning!

We've done most of the big things (I think!!). Everything's booked, suits ordered, dress ordered, BMs dresses/shoes/presents bought, ushers gifts bought, fg dress and gift bought, favours and boxes bought, flowers sorted, my accessories and shoes bought, ummmmmmm

Have to meet with the vicar this month to sort timings and oos etc, oh and the rehearsal

Need to go to the hotel to see the new extension, discuss the menu and arrange to go for a tasting (again this month...)

Invitations are in production so hopefully will be able to send them and the menus out this month although my mum keeps trying to add people to the guest list. Apparantly you can ignore a maximum numbers rule to include random peoples children!!!

Then we have to choose flavours for the cake next month

Meeting with the dj/tog/videographer in March

Still got stag/hen do's to arrange and sorting out my passport

Otherwise it's just paying for everything now...(I hope)

I am (almost) an official summer bride now - we provisionally reserved our venue and registrar this morning for July ? I've decided on my dress and have emailed them with some final questions before I order it. Our venue does the catering and has accommodation too, so we don't need to worry about that. Next is bridesmaid dresses, photographer and band.

Does anyone have a handy checklist of things that need to be sorted?

if you want a general list of things that need to be done, hitched has one. if you go to member area, top right, and scroll down to 'wedding and budget planner'. click on 'my to-do list' under the planning tools tab... quite useful list there.
