Summer Holidays?

I am going to Spain for a week with my friend to stay in her parents' apartment. It is a little beach resort used predominantly by local Spanish people and is lovely and relaxed. Lazy mornings, afternoons on the beach (under a canopy which protects my pale skin!) reading and swimming, evenings on the balcony drinking wine and chatting. I can't wait!

I've also got five days in the Cotswolds in August at the Coltswold House Hotel with OH. I booked it in February and, because we are going Sunday to Friday, got a super-posh suite for half price - I love a bargain!

We've been to Cuba already - we had 11 nights there in May. In September we're off to NYC for 6 nights and in October we're going to the Rhine Valley for 3 nights.

We're off to near Alanya in Turkey for a week. We're totally broke but hopefully it will be cheap and cheerful. I neeeeeed some time lazing by the pool in the sun with a good book asap. ?

We've booked 6 nights in Rome in August. Am still hoping to get to Houston for a week in October but not confirmed yet.

Mrs Winkle, I am so jealous, I love NYC. I have been trying to see if I can squeeze in a trip this year but what with summer, getting married (Sept) and honeymoon (Christmas) there is no time. Perhaps next year <sigh>.

Where are you going to be staying?

Nowhere this year, but next year we are going Tunisia for 2 weeks ✈️

Camping in less than 2 weeks. Haven't decided where yet - we'll check the forecast just before we set off ?.

Probably also have a holiday later this year but can't make any decisions on that until work finally make me redundant ?

We're spending 3 nights in Greewich village and then we're heading up to the Bronx to stay with our friends who live there for another 3 nights. Should be great, I heart NY! ?

I'm off to Rhodes for a week with my Mum.

CBH - just been to Rome for a long weekend if you want any tips?

We're going to Ballykellly in County Wexford, Ireland in four weeks time. My Uncle has a house in the country, though not too far from New Ross Town should we feel like going into town, his nearest neighbours is a pub and stables for the children to horseride each day, i cant wait for the peace and tranquility.

Out of interest, if anyone has been here, please let me know what you thought, its our first time in this part of Ireland.

Im off to Ibiza with the girls in september, hopefully a week with H somewhere in october, a hen night in Torquay and maybe another in dublin, Then H & I are off to a posh hotel in Mexico for new year and I can't bloody wait.?

We aren't doing anything this year - saving for a mammoth honeymoon next year instead! I'm going on my hen weekend if that counts... camping in a wigwam in fife!!

Spent a week in Cape Verde over Easter. Am off to a villa in Southern Spain for a week end of July, then 2 weeks later we're going to Cyprus for a week as a friend is getting married.

It's non stop this year but I'm not complaining! Bring it on! ?

We're off to Vegas next week for 6days , then Spain for a weekend in August and 1 week med cruise in September. Also booked 10days in Barbados in Feb.

No wonder we're totally skint.

I'm going to France tomorrow! Can't flipping wait. we're staaying about an hour inland from La rochelle in a gite with a lovely pool shared with one other property. The only drawback is that I'm going with my parents and step sister ?

oh and it has free wireless access so I'll still be able to hitch whilst on holiday, hoorah!

Nothing as yet. Hoping to get a 2 week break in September but we can't decide where we want to go and haven't found a deal that inspires us yet.

It's very depressing not having any further holiday plans this year to look forward to!

Sounds fab - I love staying in the village and pretending that I am a bona fide New Yorker!

We will just be not at work this year. H doesn't like going on holiday and we went away last year so I think wanting to go this year would be pushing it abit.

He finds going away very stressful. He's the only one that does his job so he knows he'll have loads of work to do when he gets back. Also he never really benefits from going away & he really struggles to remember anything good about holidays. Also he hates to be away from his computers for too long. We've been away 3 times in the 11 years we've been together. TBH it doesn't really bother me - and the holidays we have had have been really good (actually I tell a lie, our honeymoon in Paris sucked).

We're going to Majorca for a week, followed by a mini med cruise for a week and I can't wait.

How holidays change when you have kids!

I can't wait for our holiday, it'll be the first since our honeymoon three years ago.

We're going to Croatia for 10 days. Flying to Zagreb for 3 nights, driving to Plitvice Lakes National Park (http://www.np-plitvicka-jezera.hr/cpage.aspx?page=default.aspx&pageID=87) for a day, then getting the train to Rijeka to catch the 20 hour ferry all the way down the coast to Dubrovnik where we stay in a private apartment for 5 nights. We're considering doing a day trip to Mostar in Bosnia as well, but it's a bit of a trek so we're undecided at the moment.

I am sooooo excited but I'm not sure Mr Beast realises just how much standing around he's going to be doing, waiting for me to take photos 😉

Ah, H is a bit like this as he is self employed and constantly wories about work back home. Thankfully one of his good friends is also in the business so covers us when he is away. He gets so stressed at work and does such long days though he needs a rest every now then so I force the issue and make him go ? Our honeymoon was 2 weeks and he was having kittens because he couldn't get a reception on his phone to check everything was ok back with his business!

Oh dear...

I'm off to Portugal tomorrow for 2 weeks, then edinburgh for a long weekend in August, Bournemouth for a long hen weekend in September, another week in Portugal in October then an extra long weekend in Edinburgh for a wedding....then it's Christmas!!

Bloomin heck, why do I agree to all this travelling ?

Just got back from a 2 week all inclusive deal at the Caribe Club Princess in Bavaro, Domnican Republic. It was fantastic. The complex was beautiful and there were plenty of excursions to go on. Well worth a visit.

How could I forget? We're off up to Edinburgh for the wedding of kilty and CS next month too. ?

We're going to brittany, france for a week and 1/2 end of aug, going to take a few days to get there, can't wait though not sure if fancy all the driving, but we're having a change from flying and having a different experience. H wants to see le mans race track on the way too.

We've just come back from camping at Haven near Cleethorpes which was fun.

We've got a week in Northumberland booked in August, which I can't wait for as I love it there.

H has a week off in July (his first time off including weekends since Christmas!) and I think we'll just stay at home.
