Supercar Hire - Who would want this type of service?

HWS, 30 January, 2010 at 17:22 Posted on Planning 0 3

Just a simple basic question really..

To all the gent's out there, how many of you would consider such a service, namely an Aston Martin V12 GT, 2003 model year.

This could collect you from your home or overnight stay and either take you directly to the ceremony or go via scenic route for an hour or so, maybe stopping off at a country inn for some refreshments prior arriving at the ceremony.

The car can be used primarily as a Grooms car or as a bridal car subject to the brides dress actually fitting. (it is a 2 + 2 supercar after all)

Also the car can be made available throughout your reception to allow your guests to take Experience Rides, these can be arranged prior or left for individual to purchase on the date at very reasonable rates (less than the cost of 3 pints).

Any feedback is very welcomed & questions accepted.

There are quite a few places already offering these sorts of services. Personally it does not interest me so much. Being driven around in a supercar is not such a great expereience if you have driven a decent sports car

Now if you could offer the driving of the car then there is a market for it IMO. i.e. I drive myself and best man (or best man drives) to the church and then the car is picked up from there. It would only be a short rental but much more enjoyable than a ride. I can't see it being so hard to organise considering there are many places out there you can spend 30 minutes driving a super car round a track.

I am looking into getting this as a sort of wedding present for my OH - depending on cost. I know he would really love it and it would be a great start to the day. The only issue I would consider is if only 2 people can fit in the car - him and a driver - it wouldnt be so fun as it would be nicer to share the experience with someone else.

For my wedding I'm renting a classic Rolls to drive me around. I thought about the idea of renting a fun car to drive, but A) it's really expensive ($2k/day with really low mileage limits in LA, CA) and B) I'm not planning on being in any condition to drive myself after the open bar at my ceremony. Not a good day/night to rent a sports car...

Would be fun another day though -- maybe as an activity with the groomsmen?

BTW, our Rolls will look like this: 1969 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow -- I'm pumped!
