Surely it's not too early...

Stazzle, 17 July, 2009 at 14:44 Posted on Planning 0 21

...to open the Friday bar?!

Have had a pretty sh!t week as many of you will know, and could really do with a drink to chill out a bit. Someone join me please, it's much less of a sad state of affairs if I'm not drinking alone this early! ?

<Pours out an impressively sized glass of Pinot Grigio and sits back in the chair> aaaaahhhh that's better ?

    Hello,

I am more of a lurker than a poster but have put my two penneth in when i feel i have something to add! You all seem like such a close knit community!

We are getting married on 5th June next year and time is rushing by. I think we have have got all the big stuff booked - venue, photographer, florist etc and am waiting until the autumn to lose a bit of weight and then start looking for dresses!

Love all the ideas and support on the forum ?

Ive had a rubbish two weeks so defo not too early!! Large Glass of white wine for me please!!

Hi Hkj, im a bit of a lurker too but getting much more involved recently! Dont leave your dress shopping too late, im getting married in June next year and was shocked when I went dress shopping last sautrday that the dresses take nine months on order, and then you need to leave time for fittings and things! Plus its so exciting dress shopping, I was worried about my weight but that all flew out the window when I was putting the lovely dresses on! Will make sure I loose some before the fittings though!!

Corona for you Rossatron, nice cold vino for you Hely. Enjoy ?

Hkj, we actually wanted the 5th June as our date originally as that will be our 5 year anniversary so would have been lovely! But in the end our venue had really limited availability so we've gone for 25th July next year (it's a Sunday too). It was unbelievable, we didn't realise how popular the venue was so when we went to look round it in May 2008 and already they had no 2010 summer Saturdays left, we were gobsmacked! over 2 years in advance and it was that packed full.

Sounds like you have a lot organised, I'm the same with the dress - am doing weight watchers so hopefully will get a little bit off at least before I start looking!

Edited - to serve up a large vino for Moya too ?

9 months for a dress? Thats scary! I had been working off six months so looking to order October / November.

Can anyone else share their experiences of timescales?

Wine and rose coming up for Minimouse and December1984 - happy Friday!

Hkj I've been thinking on a 6 month basis too. 9 months seems an awful long time! Have no experience though so no idea.

Afternoon ladies mines a white wine too. Only 3 weeks to go now!!!!

Lots to do but nothing major, and as for the dress i ordered mine in November it was made in the wrong colour (designers mistake) and they remade it rush order and i still had it by Easter. Flower girl dress on the other hand to 4 months and no mistakes (arrived yesterday!) I think time scale depends on the time of year you order and the designer you are getting it from.

For me it is the first weekend in ages with nothing in the diary, so i shall do as i please ?

Tonight (well now actually) is listening to another million and one clips of wedding bands (most of whom demo the same 2 or 3 songs) to try and decide on one as the first couple we decided we liked were already booked.

any home counties recommendations for rock / indie that also do a bit of 50s/60s to keep the oldies happy?
