Surprise for H2B?

pink1908, 9 May, 2011 at 19:57 Posted on Planning 0 16

I really want to surprise my H2B, either on our wedding day, the couple of days after until we go on our honeymoon, or whilst we are away! (Doing a tour of italy)

But cant think of anything, and as the wedding is in august and still lots to pay for i have a limited budget!

Any ideas would be very appreciated?

Are you getting any gifts or surprises?

Thank you xxx

They're called My Beautiful Groom journals - the proper ones come from a website called Oh So Cherished but a few people have made their own.

I thought about making one for my OH but when I saw the questions they're a bit too soppy for us really, we're not exactly a mushy couple, more silly and random ?

I've got him a signed football shirt off ebay and managed to get a right bargain on a boudoir shoot through a Groupon voucher - I'm off for the shoot next Monday (NOT too sure about it at all as I'm currently the heaviest I've ever been, wedding diet hasn't kicked in yet!)

Other than that I'm not really sure - we're paying for the wedding and honeymoon ourselves so neither of us actually have a lot of spare money for gifts.

This is a totally random thought, but I will add it to the mix anyway...

I have decided to get my OH a really posh gents umbrella... he is quite a dapper feller anyway and loves things like that. I thought I could give it to him with a message along the lines of, "this way we guarantee it won't rain".

I've got a few little things for OH to leave in the hotel the night before - got him a t-shirt saying 'under new management' for breakfast the next morning (he won't wear it but it made me laugh!) and some socks saying 'so you don't get cold feet' for the night before the wedding! just silly little things!

but the biggest surprise is the wedding singer! OMG, i am so excited - only me, mum, dad and sister know - he is going to be so shocked and he's going to come out at the end of the speeches while everyone is having coffee!! OH really wanted a singer and i said we couldn't afford it but i saw this guy at a wedding fair and he was amazing - ratpack style singer which is what OH loves! no-one else has a clue!

I didn't get the My Beatuiful Groom journal, but i did get the My Beautiful Parents journal as they will really appreciate it and have done so much for us for this wedding - but i think i'll have to give it to them a few days before the wedding or they'll be blubbing on the wedding morning!!!!

I am trying my best to suprise OH but he is impossible to keep secrets from.

So far I - organised his car to church, a ferrari. Do you have any friends who'd be willing to do this?

I've got him a watch that I've had engraved with a secret message.

I made him a personal groom journal which is just about complete now.

Plus he has lots of little bits - socks, undies, his fave cerials, bottle of his fave booze for the morning etc,

    Other things we'd love:

    * Brunch at his favourite (awful!) greasy spoon type OK Diner. I always refuse to go, but he'd love it if I organised a table.

    * Picnic the next day - somewhere nice and romantic, perhaps someone could set up it for you in advance

    * Loads on honeymoon - look into trips etc, see what extras they would be willing to put into your room for a small fee, an announcement on the plane, or beers/champagne inflight? Book into the spa?

I'm thinking of doing something along the lines of an antique pocket watch or normal watch as a gift, and would like to make a journal type book listing 100 things I love about him :-) cheesy I know but he'll love it.

We're paying for our wedding ourselves, so like a lot of ladies on here, we've not got the cash to splash out on wedding gifts. We are quite a soppy couple i have to say, and i tend to just buy little gifts and have them sent to him and watch the suprised look on his face. I've been wanting to get him a guitar, but it's quite expensive, so i'm going to have to secretly save up for it.
