Surprise for my wife to be

Gavlfc, 5 May, 2013 at 21:49 Posted on Planning 0 17

Hi, don't know if this is the right place to post and sorry if its been posted before..

I'm getting married 1/8/13 in Cyprus and was wondering if any of you have any good ideas for me to make my wife's day even better. I was thinking champagne sent to room on the morning but that gets done all the time. If anyone has any other ideas it would be a huge help.

Thanks :-)

Hi and welcome. If your wife hasn't got any of these already why don't you try something like earrings, necklace or shoes? You could write her a love letter? Present her with some kind of surprise for your honeymoon? You need to think of your wife to be's personality and her style - what she would like as a gift, what she wouldn't like. Take it from there and write a list.

You could make up a journal full of photos and memories of your life together so far you can get pre made ones with prompts and ideas already in such as

    https://ohsocherished.co.uk/product/1057/296/my_beautiful_bride_journal

or just make up your own.

Depending on your budget a nice designer handbag or pair of shoes (Jimmy Choos etc) will make any bride smile from ear to ear I am sure.

How about a wooden puzzle? You could get your favourite picture together added onto it and you could write the reasons why you lover her on each piece and she could have fun reading it whilst making it up.

A 30 piece puzzle would be fab for "30 reasons why I love you". It could even be made in the shape of Cyprus for that added special touch. Get in touch for more information *******@****************.**.**

It would be good if there was something personal and something she could wear on the day and can keep as an extra special keepsake. If she hasn't already got something and you know you can find something she likes either earring or necklace or bracelet that has already been suggested would be lovely. Something sentimental would also be lovely as an extra to have in the hotel room. The books funky has suggested sound really lovely.

Funky thanks so much for that link - the books are lovely!

I don't know if it is just me (and I'm being super honest!) I'm slightly afraid I might get a gift to wear on the day like jewellery and it won't 'go' with what I'm wearing/ different style to my other jewelley....

Us brides plan what we'll look like on the day down to the pinky toe - if there's jewellery that I want to wear I'll already have bought it! I'd rather have a present to wear on the honeymoon or after the wedding day!

You can buy lockets and charms for the bouquet. You could get something like that which represents any older relatives e.g. grandparents, who might have passed away.

My husband wrote me a 7 page love letter, saying he'd never written me one in the past, so now seemed a good time. He also surprised me with my wedding jewellery.

    Hey Gavlfc,

Can I throw the question back to you and ask if you have any ideas for us brides to buy the groom on the wedding day?

For me personally, it'd be something personalised that had taken a bit of thought (that doesn't have to mean soppy, just relevant to the two of you) We are having a reading from a book by Edward Monkton so I've bought my OH the book. I want to do something else but not sure what yet! We've done photo albums before but, if you ahven't, I think that'd be a lovely gift for your bride to be, with captions in it from over the years.

    Emma :-)

Awww super sweet! Maybe send like a personal quote or poem or something that she'll know is between you two/saying how you feel about her. I bet that'll crack a tear Smiley laugh

What about sending her a gorgeous piece of jewellery? doesn't have to be expensive! Just like a simple bracelet or something with a card telling her you cannot wait to see her and for her to become your wife! :-) I'm getting teary at the thought! It doesn't have to be anything extravagant, it's the thought that counts :-) You're so sweet by the way, she's a very lucky girl!

Im thinking maybe a really girly hamper of some kind with some of her fav things and perhaps some thing that have personal meaning to you both as well you , and maybe a nice note in there too you could also put the champagne in there , just basically fill it will things she will really like you dnt have to spend alot but it can be any size so its up to you , aslong as you dress it up nice in a nice box and some ribbon it will look fantastic !!!

Ps - Im very impressed by the effort taken to make this token really special for you wife to be its very sweet , hope my h2b thinks like you lol

    Smiley smile
