    Hi

I'm crossing my fingers for my first stone award this week (been doing it 6 weeks), need 2lb this week. Logic says it shouldn't happen, I had a "flexible" day on Friday, as I was at a wedding. I was not too bad though, mainly drank vodka and diet coke, but too much of it, and I didn't eat my sticky toffee pudding. My £3 from Adsa scales are going in the right direction, but can't be relied on, of course!

Getting a bit bored of eating the same things, actually I'm not, but H is, I could eat pasta every day! Might have to get a recipe book for inspiration. I've tried a few things out of the magazine, but can't say I've enjoyed any of them really. The problem is I have very bland tastes, and it seems most of the recipes rely on strong flavours to compensate for the lack of tasty fat, ha ha!

Made my favourite SW food though at the weekend, veggie lasagne with Quorn mince. Not as goos as a beef version, but very tasty nonetheless.

    How are you doing?

Sounds like you're doing really well Disco! I'll keep my fingers crossed for the 2lbs off this week, but I'm sure you've done fine. Imagine all the calories and stuff you've saved on that pudding and not drinking other stuff! Though I don't know how you managed to turn down sticky toffee pudding. It's lovely when you reach mile stones. It makes you feel really in control.

Maybe we should produce a recipe list somewhere. I don't mind putting mine into a word document and sending them over. I do think I need to vary what we're eating too... I didn;t know we could eat so many beans and cans of chopped toms. (not eaten together). Let us know how you do at weigh in.

Morning all. I had a bad week last week thanks to being due on this week (it always attacks me the week before food wise for some reason). I ate a fair bit of choc and ended up using 65 syns on alcohol on saturday night ooops.

This week I am going to be 100% and will be trying the Lentil & veg dahl, bean and pasta soup and some quiche from the magazine/website this week. I also get bored with what I eat but I know some people who eat something different every week but then again I am a fuss pot so not surprising I stick to the same old things lol.

I would really like to have a big loss this week as week before last I was really really good and I only lost 1.5lbs which I know is above average but felt I should have had more for being such a saint lol.

Hope everyone else is having a good week this week.

    My food today is:-

    B - 2 weetabix (b), semi-skimmed milk (a) and a banana.
L - Ham and cheese (a) omlette followed by some grapes and natural yoghurt and a pack of Limbos
D - Beef stew - v.lean beef, stock, carrots, swede, onion, runner beans, broccoli, cauli and followed by a Not Guilty lolly and some melon.
    Snacks - Hi-fi bar (b).

What is everyone else eating today?

Hurrah! For some reason I'm now able to reply and post again!

I weighed in yesterday and lost another pound-and-a-half which was fine by me. I've another pound-and-a-half to go to hit my stone and a half award. And got my Club 0 award last week which came as a complete surprise to me!

I've got some recipes too, I don't mind sharing them with anyone who wants to PM their email addy to me.

What am I eating today? Had fresh fruit for brekky, with coffee (milk from HA allowance).

Lunch was a big helping of salad (leaves, baby corn, tommies, beetroot, spring onion, feta cheese from HA allwance), with balsamic vinegar and a a wholemeal roll (HE B). With a Diet Coke to wash it all down with. Apple and Muller Light for pud. I'm on supper duty tonight but haven't decided what to have ..... any ideas?!

    1. Hello, I'm doing SW too. Only managed to lose 2 pounds in my first week though which was a bit disappointing as my friend who I go with lost 6.5! I am making sure I have my 15 syns a day though as otherwise I wouldn't stick to it.

Here's a couple of really tasty recipes that I made up/adapted.

Bean dip - buy a tin of kidney beans in chilli sauce, empty the whole tin into a food processor along with some garlic (sorry don't do precise measurements), coriander, mature cheese and lime juice. Blend and you've got yourself a gorgeous dip. Still don't like dipping crudites into it though!

Feta and roasted veg lasagne - griddle some aubergine, courgette and red peppers and set aside. Make a fresh tomato sauce with garlic, tomatoes, bit of chilli, spoonful of sweetner and onions. Cook some lasagne sheets. Layer lasagne sheets with the veg, tomato sauce, some crumbled HE a reduced fat feta. If you have a HEb left you can dry fry some pinenuts to sprinkle through as well. Then drizzle with a dressing made of chopped parsley, mint, fresh lemon juice and a splash of olive oil. This one is absolutely gorgeous believe me!

Ginfizz, 2lbs is a good wieght loss, thats how much they recon you should lose if you're doing it sensibly and all. Its hard if you go with a friend and they lose more than you, but don;t be put off. Those recipes sound good i might give them a try.

Well done mrs buttercup and kat, they are fantastic losses.

I sem to have slowed down on my weight loss the last week or so, i only lost half a pound last week (and after jumping on my scales this mornign it looks liek i'll be lucky if I;ve managed that this week. However its been a stressful 2 weeks, what with being made redundant, job hunting, interviews etc. I've missed a couple of meals, and not been very godo at eating my HEs. Hopefully I'll be able to get back onto it this week.

    Hi,

I used to be pretty obese and started putting on a lot of weight especially on my thighs and bottom in my late thirties. I started exercising as often as possible and also cut down on a lot of high calorie stuff. Unfortunately I hardly managed to lose any weight at all. I then recently read an article by a lady who claimed that she managed to lose nearly half of her weight using a particular weight loss product. I tried it out and it actually worked really well. Within 4 months I managed to shave off 65 pounds completely. The results were pretty amazing and I feel so much healthier and energetic now without having to carry all that extra weight around. You can read more about the lady's article at the link below

    Jennifer, I'll have 10. Sheesh!

I only lost half a pound last week, not bad considering. This week I'll be lucky to lose at all. Went away with work at the weekend, and the menu was a choice of 3 for each course, so not much opportunity for food optimising (although I'd already given myself permission to have a nice desset!), and of course there was champagne and wine.

Back on track today though. There seems to be so much going on in my social life (unusually!) at the moment, weddings, anniversary parties, my son's birthday, two trips to the Lake District for different things, I've said to myself that as long as I don't put on through September I'll be happy with that, to go full steam ahead the first week of October.

I had the whole weekend off slimming world and have made a bad start today as we didn't have any semi skimmed milk so had to have whole milk on my cereal. Do you still go to group when you know you have been bad? I am totally demotivated.

Absolutely definitely go to group! I know all too well what happens when you don't.

Are you using the milk as a HE? Did you have less of it, well, less than allowed for one HE? If that's the case, it's fine! I only have whole milk anyway, I don't have enough of it to warrant buying anything else, so I just use what I buy for my son.

You know you need to go to group, just be honest, and be prepared for feeling rubbish! Everyone has a weekend off now and again, everyone knows how you feel. I certainly do. Focus on how good you'll feel next week when you're back on track!

Def go to group. Everyone has off days / weeks and it's only natural. But the encouragement you get when you do go really does help you a) not to feel so bad about things and b) makes you more motivated to get back on track for the next weigh in. And you may find you've not done as badly as you fear! Go on, go!

    Hi everyone

I haven't been on here for weeks ?. September has been a mad month, we've had so many things one plus a death in the family. My weight has been up and down, but last monday I got my weight back down to what I was at the beginning of the month. I've had a fairly good week diet wise and I've been wii fitting it as much as I can, and by friday I had lost 3lb according to my scales. However I was at a wedding all day on Sat, and I just ate and drank what I wanted, so if I stay the same tonight I'd be more than happy and if I lose anything then that will be a bonus.

Hope everyone else is doing well, any wi's today so far?

    x

Jefna - sorry you've been having a tough time of it, but well done for getting the weight down again. I lost half a pound last week and am hoping for a bit more at tomorrow's weigh in so I can get my stone-and-a-half award. I don't weigh myself in between whiles as I don't think it's helpful ....

Thanks gmt, well done on your loss last week, I hope you get you're award this week.

I don't normally weigh myself inbetween either, but I really wanted to lose some weight for the wedding so I weighed in on friday just to see how I was doing. I was looking back at the photos we took and I'm really pleased as I look quite slim on them.

    Lots of luck to you

I stayed the same this week, so I'm quite pleased with that after all I ate and drank at the wedding! Now that all our weekends aren't took up with social events, I might have a chance at loosing some weight ha ha. Hoping for a steady 1lb a week, I'd be more than happy with that.

What time do you get weighed gmt?

I'm sneaking back to WL quietly LOL. I started SW last wednesday and nearly fell off the scales when it registered an 8lb loss in my first week. I hand on heart promise that I had all my HEs and had 10-15 sins a day. Heck, I had a chocolate bar for 4 of those days (one was a snickers-14syns) all within my sins.

I absolutely love SW and don't think it promotes overeating (as one of my friends said), it helps you to register when you are full and if you do want more then you can have it.

I know my biggest problem was the wine and have since cut this out totally until I get my club 10. Yes, it will be hard but I am determined.

After trying so many diets; Some of you know, I was on Lighterlife for a few months before my wedding and lost 4 stone in 4 months, my metabolism is truly fcuked - I blame LL totally for this.

I am having lots of green days as I'm not a huge Carnivore anyway. I am loving cooking my pasta sauces from scratch again like I used to many moons ago am also loving the free chips which I have had for lunch today topped with a grated babybel.

I have some lentils soaking and am going to make a nice curry from this weeks free curry book in the SW magazine.

I am not silly and after dieting on and off for 20 years and knowing every diet going, I know that most of that was water and am realistically hoping for a 1-2 loss a week. It was just a massive (literaly) motivation to carry on.

Good luck with this weeks WI's everyone.

Welcome treacle tart, and good luck, actually no, you don't need luck, should i send lots of willpower instead?

I lost 3 lbs this week, I was nearly slimmer of the week, there were 2 of us who lost the same, but he lost more than me last week so he won. He was very sweet though and came over at the end of the class with half of the bag of fruit for me. How sweet is that hey.
