Hallo losers! Well done on being SotW, Mad, and what a nice gesture by your fellow slimmer! It's a shame more men don't come to club - think they wpould really ebenfit from joining. We've three men at ours at the moment ....

I only lost half a pound this week which is better than nothing but so frustratingly little when I've stuck to plan and eaten the right things .Maybe more will fall off next week!

Yoy won't find me cutting out wine - I am not drinking as much but we still indulge and I'm still losing weight while doing so!

Thank you Mad and wd on the loss this week ?

It does help that the woman of the year regional final was last weekend and the lady who won is my friend and motivated me to start going again to her class in Sanderstead. she has lost nearly 7 1/2 stone I think now and said she was so nervous but hers wasnt a sob story but a funny one and that's why she think she won and hopefully she'll win the final.

There is a lot of motivation in my group actually - a couple of men have lost of 6 stone and a few women over 7! that's all the motivation I need I think. My leader is also fab.

We also have a Man of the year semi-finalist in our group too.

Good luck this week all. xx

Sorry Jefna, missed your question. I weigh in at around 5.45pm on a Tuesday evening!

Treacle, sounds like you've got lots of inspiration and encouragement in your group. Make the most of it!

Well done mrs buttercup. I'm addicted to the bat5chelors pasta and sauces, the cheese and broccoli one is like pure stodge feel good food. It reminds me of being a student.

I'm really confused about all this diet stuff, I wasn't very good at sticking to the diet, well I don't think I did, what with a bag of malteasers, a meal out with pudding, 3 bags of quavers (eaten in about 10 mins.) and two hge bowls of cereal, and not eating all my HE's, I managed to lose 3 pounds. How come when i really stick to it I only lose a wee bit.

Blimey MAD, you must have one weird metabolism LOL If I at that lot the sclaes would definitely NOT be tipping in my favour!

I stick the to plan most of thetime and don't use all my syns (well, I tend to save them for the Friday night curry and wine and the odd glass of vino during the week) and find I lose a pound here, half a pound there, put one on there, put three on somewhere else (much to my horror) but I follow the rules all the time and don't do anything radically different from one week to the next. I just put it down to the fact I must be odd!

Lost another pound this week and got my stone-and-a-half award at long last!

Well done on the losses SW girls.

I only lost 1/2 lb this week but am actually over the moon with that as I have been on steroids for the past 7 days and can put on up to 7lbs in a week with them usually.

I've just had egg, beans and chips for my dinner. I love SW as it doesnt actually feel like I am dieting at all.

? to a great loss next week.

    Well done GMT.

Although a 3 1/2 lb loss for next week seems too much, I would love to do this to have lost a stone in my 1st month. Probably unachievable especially with the drugs I was on for my bronchitis but I am hoping to walk a bit more this week and up my water intake as I am terrible with fluids.

Blimey, to think that I used to drink 6 litres a day a few years ago on Lighterlife. I barely manage half a litre now but know that I get most of my fluids from fruit and veg.

Good luck for your next award xx

Forgot to say Treacle Tart - could you share some of your pasta sauce recipes? I usually end up using loads of my syns on the jarred ones and would like to start making my own.

Sorry if thats a bit cheeky!

    Thanks

    Hi,

I'm Claire and can normally be found on WP. I'm off to my first SW tomorrow evening, but I'm trying to get myself all prepared with a bit of shopping first. What would you say are your staples??

    Thanks!

Hi Gemgems, well done for losing this week.

One of my favourite sauces it to fry light some onions, garlic and a red chilli. Add herbs/spices (fresh torn basil is best) to taste then add a can of chopped tomatoes or use a few fresh ones. I prefer the tinned as it has the added juice. separate half the mixture and blend with a hand blender or food processor and then put the two halves together again for a chunky arrabiatta sauce or blend it all up for a smooth one. It's a lovely FREE pasta sauce. I have several batches frozen of this so it is quick and easy to defrost during the day and ready for dinner, just heat through and have it like that with pasta or add mushrooms/broccoli/any other veg to bulk it up a bit.

I also like to frylight some onion and stir in some tomato puree or passata and a dolop of extra light philladelphia. I then add some capers and stir through pasta. It's a nice cheesy tomato pasta sauce. Also FREE if you use your cheese as a HE.

    Hi Claire,

    My staples are:

    • dried pasta - all types, linguini is my favourite.
    • Rice, I find brown keeps me fuller for longer
    • tins of tomatoes
    • potatoes to have baked, mashed or to use for free chips
    • herbs, garlic and spices to add flavour to dishes
    • fruit and veg - all types. I'm into courgettes and Squash at the moment
    • baked beans
    • Cottage cheese
    • muller light (or Tesco own low fat) yogurts as they are free on both days
    • quorn products
    • Eggs for omelettes, fried (in frylight), poached or scrambled
    • tinned beans - haricot, black eyed, split , I like all types.
    • lentils

I'm sure I have missed lots but I would get the book first to give you an idea of what to plan for the week.

I'm not a huge meat eater so only tend to buy the odd steak or turkey drumstick to eat with a salad or roasted vegetable medley.

    Good luck!

    TT x

Free hummous anyone? On a green day anyway!

    • One can of chick peas
    • 1 or 1/2 a clove of garlic grated, crushed or finely chopped (depending how strong you like it)
    • lemon juice
    • salt & pepper
    • Teaspoon of Olive oil (HE)

whizz it all up and eat with carrot or celery sticks for a lovely snack.

I've been living off this for the past week and probably stink to high heaven but am addicted to it now ?

If you were off plan for a fortnight and only put on 3Ib I think you did good!

    My staples are:

    • wholewheat pasta
    • Salad items
    • Fresh fruit
    • baked beans
    • tinned toms
    • passata
    • quark
    • cottage cheese
    • fromage frais
    • syn fee yoghurts (I like the Shape Lasting Satisfaction)
    • Alpen light bars (2 of these = 1 HE B)
    • Quorn mince / chicken pieces / sausages (syn free ones)
    • veggies
    • garlic
    • chillies
    • pasta 'n' sauce - check they're they're free, first!

One of my fave sauces to go with pasta is some tinned toms, passata, onions, mushrooms, garlic ... with some fromage frais stirred in at the end.

Thank you! I've bought/ already have most of what you said. Couldn't get Quark which was a pain!

Well today is the day, my first meeting is tonight and I'm bricking it haha. Then off to the gym after.

Think I will try and plan a week of eating of h2b, as he does most of the cooking. I don't mind eating something different some days, but not all otherwise I'll feel like leper! Do them good to have some Sw food too.

Slightly concerned about my first week as we're away at the weekend to stay at my friends, and I know it's going to be takeaway and alcohol. If I keep my syns to zero/v low for the rest of the week I'm hoping that will compensate??!

1lb off for me this week - only I feel like I've really scuppered my chances this week, I had about 75 sins yesterday - sheesh! it was my LO's birthday! how useless was I!!! I think the problem was once I'd had a bit of cake, and a bit of party tea, I didn't stop in the evening either, buttered french bread and chocolates! oh boy! I've been sin free all day today though, trying to salvage something!

Treacle Tart, quick note, tomato puree has 1/2 a sin per tbsp on an original or green day - so v low, but sins all the same! Just thought I'd mention as you could be having a few hidden sins there!

SC, don't beat yourself up. Use your flexible syns and get back on track the rest of the week. I ate a few choccies at the weekend - only a few, mind, but I really enjoyed them. I don't feel guilty, and I've stuck to the plan this week. So there!!!!!

Thanks Mrs SC, I didn't realise that about the puree.

3lb off for me this week so that's 13 1/2 lbs in 4 weeks. I am so pleased with that. I should get my 1 stone award next week.

Sounds like you're all doing really well!!

Well I went last night and am now into it today. I'm cooking tonight (dp normally does) until I can get it sorted and we get into the swing of things. Dp and kids will be eating practically the same as me, so should make it all easier.

Googled SW recipes yesterday and found a whole host on another website, some really nice ones. Not sure if I can post another website address? But pm me if you it.
