Great start there, Claire! I shifted another half-pound this week. Steady and slow seems to be my route!

    Thank you!

Well done on your loss. Slow and steady is good in my opinion I think it makes keeping it off easier. I'm under no illusions, my loss will def be less next week!

The slow route can be a bit frustrating as it feels like you're not achieving much - so I make myself look back to where I started and then it feels a lot more like success LOL. Another 4 pounds and I'll have dropped two whole stone!

    How is everyone doing??

I'm into making soup at the moment, so that's good. Sw is def encouraging me to cook.

It was a tasting evening at sw last night, and someone made the potato layer dish on the calendar that comes with the latest mag. It was lovely! Will def be giving that a go. Someone else made a chili corn bread which was lovely too.

    What are your fave recipes?

Only 1/2lb off this week, but was convinced I'd put on so happy with that!

I was really good last week and weighed in on Tuesday with a 4.5lbs loss yay! Was very pleased.

Being good again this week, no cheating. Although made a boob last night. DH wanted chips from chip shop and i said no as they were too many syns so when I went shopping I grabbed some profiteroles from Tesco to have instead. Well the chips were 17.5 syns for regular size or 26 syns for large both on a green day and my "good" profiterole dessert ended up being 29.5 syns boo hoo am gutted!!! Have accounted for this blip and should still finish the week on 65 syns so not too awful.

Hope everyone else is okay and doing well.

    ?

I joined SW in mid May, after being a WW girl for a long time and getting nowhere fast, I was even a leader at one point!! Felt I knew the plan too well (if that's poss) and needed a complete change!

I love SW - have lost 1stone 10lbs with 4.5lbs til target and I feel fab!! It's so good fitting back into things I haven't seen for 4.5yrs since I got married! Glad I kept them.

My progress has been slow, but I've got there in the end with the support of a great leader, who doesn't throw gains in your face but is able to motivate you to get your head straight again.

My fear is maintenance, as I've been at target before, and I just can't seem to stay there, so here's hoping!

Well done on all your weight loss successes and keep going those who are finding it tough, been there .x.x.x.

    Take care ?

    Hallo, losers!

Hope you're all caryring on with the shedding of weight. I managed to lose a pound and a half last week which was pretty impressive considering I had too much wine at the weekend and a birthday meal.

Sparkletoes - I think that after a while it's easy for us to get jaded and for the plan to lose its grip on us! For motivation, how about having a couple of photos of yourself at your slimest around the house, or in your wallet. Or maybe a pic of you before your started SW as reminder of how far you've come? I also think it's easy to think we 'know' the plan inside out and to stop reading the book. So I'd read the book again, keep a diet sheet for a couple of days, visit the website, swap some recipes .... is your group leader helpful?

Wow Sparkletoes! fab pics. You've done so well before that you know you can shift the extra weight you have put on. whenever I feel like I'm slipping, i re read my SW magazines and books. Good luck.

WTG GMT you're on your way chick!

Well done all you other losers!

I did 1/2 lb off last week and was a bit gutted but managed to stay on track to lose 2 1/2 lbs this week so that's a total of 18 1/2 lbs in 7 weeks. People are starting to notice now and my skin is amazing due to the amount of fruit and veg I am eating.

I am also a lot happier in myself and treated myself to a new knee length skirt in a size down to wear for work with high boots.

Good luck this week everyone! xxxx

Well, after sticking religiously to SW for the past 9wks I have only managed to lose 8lbs ☹️ (I have alot to lose!!)

I am gutted that the plan hasnt worked for me, but Im now off to WW (this plan has always worked for me in the past)

I feel that Ive wasted the past 2months & now will not have lost a decent amount of weigh tby christmas ☹️

Anyhoo - good luck to you all ?

I've had to quit group because I'm now working evenings, so I haven't been sticking to it as well as I should have been. But I've now lost two stones - so I'm happy with that, plus I'm no longer obese.

But what I really don't understand is that I haven't lost a dress size, I look slimmer in my face and my clothes are looser, but you'd think after two stones I'd have dropped at least one size? So still 16's for me. I'm hoping that by christmas I'll definately be a 14.

Congratulations to everyone else on their weightloss, it's fab.

Sminky that's such a shame that you've had to give up, but 8lbs is still good - it's almost 1lb a week and that's recommended weightloss. I do understand though, you definately expect to lose more in the first few weeks so if WW has worked for you in the past then go for it. Plus you'll have probably lost a stone by christmas which is great, so try not to let it get you down.

    Afternoon ladies.

I am not looking forward to my weigh in tomorrow as I have been out 3 times this week, saturday night being my christmas party night out and I drank far too much oops. Although this is the only time I get to drink as over xmas I drive due to having to small kiddies so after this week's weigh in I am going to buckle down and hope for a good loss between next week and xmas.

Does anyone know how long the group(s) are closed for over xmas and new year? I know they will all be different but I wondered if I was hoping for too much to be weighed in on the Tuesday before xmas day (23 December I think) lol.

I am another one who has slow and steady losses and it can be really frustrating especially if there are other people in your group who joined around the same time and seem to be losing twice as much as you!

Keep up the good work ladies.

2 and 3/4 lbs off for me, taking me down into the next stone bracket (even if it's only by 1/4 of a pound) and less than a stone to my first target where I'll take stock

Back to the running this week too, so hopefully that will help the weight loss

Hope everyone's well and enjoying life

    Afternoon all.

Well I gained 1.5lbs this week which was totally expected after the food and drink consumed this past week.

Am giving it 100% this week and hopefully have a loss of 3 lbs which will counter-act this gain (hopefully lol).

Hope everyone else is doing okay.

Gemgems - that's pretty good considering all the scoffing and quaffing you'd been doing the past week! Now you can get back on plan and shift it again this week.

Sminky - sorry if I've got your name wrong but can't see your post ....... a pound a week is a great weight loss pattern but I can understand you being disapppointed if WW worked for you more effectively before. What sort of things were you having in a typical day?

I've lost another pound (see, I'm steady and sloooooooooooooooooow!!!) at WI last week. Not sure how I'll fair this week as feel blobby .... but I've only a pound and a half to go to get my two stone award!!!!!!!

The problem is that it hasnt been a pound a week, in the last 3wks I have lost 1lb (& that is without going 'off plan' at all!) I have followed WW now for the past wk & in the first 4 days I lost 3lbs - I think that SW just doesnt work for everyone

The real shame is that Ive paid for a 12wk CD & am only half way through ☹️

Sminky, are you sure you're eating enough?

I get my best weight losses when I'm eating loads (much to my H's disbelief!) and find that my weight loss really slows if I miss or skimp on meals

My consultant has told us before that you shouldnt have less than 35/40 syns a week as that can cause problems with losing weight. I always have my fully 70 a week usually but certainly nothing less than 60.

I also found that I had to start weighing things (like the jacket potato, marg, cheese, chicken etc) as I was guesstimating and was actually using hidden syns that I never accounted for.

I dont go to the gym or anything like that and so long as I use my syns, eat well (and a variety) and weigh what I should then I do lose. When I dont do those things I either lose very little or STS.

Can you not "sell" your CD to someone else in the group? Maybe have a word with your consultant as I am sure there is a money back guarantee but not sure how that works.

Sorry SW didnt work for you, and I wish you lots of weigh loss on WW.

I have also heard that having only a few syns is a false economy, as is eating less then you should - both can slow down the weight loss. I know that when I skip a meal or don't have as much as I should, then I don't lose the weight. Did your consultant give you any help/advice on this? It's what they're there for. Did she ask to see some sample days diet sheets from you to see if there was anything there that shouldn't be? Or vice versa!

I'm sure you could negotiate some moneyy back on the CD, def worth trying. Perhaps SW just don't suit you, and if WW does, then I wish you lots of luck with it!

    Hello

Well finally plucked up the courage to join SW tonight but have to say I am confused!

Done WW before and am finding it totally different. Trying to read the book and digest all info so I get it right tomorrow!

Can I ask a couple of questions.

I intend to have a green day tomorrow so can I have 2 weatabix for breakfast (actually can I have weatabix on both red or green days?)

Gravy granuals have to be pointed but bovril is free? Are stock cubes free as well?

Tomorrow I am intending to have -

Weatabix x 2 and skimmed milk

    Banana and muller light

Batchelors cheese and brocolli pasta and sauce with milk from allowance and salad

    Fruit

Tomatos, eggs, mushrooms and gammon (HE 2)

    Is this right? Thank you

SAM83, you can have 2 Weetabix as a HE B on either day

Bovril is free, but gravy granules and stock cubes are synned (although stock cubes are low)

Menu looks excellent! Make sure you have plenty of fruit AND veg as that will fill you up

    Good luck with SW!

Sminky, sometimes diets just don't suit (the grapefruit and egg one I tried many years ago certainly didn't suit the atmosphere!)

Hope you get something sorted as you need to find one that will deliver the results you want

Didn't think corned beef was free, you might already know that.

If yoy look at syns online on the SW website you cn look up all the Batchelors products and check the syn values.

I've lost my way girls. I've had a really crappy few weeks and have gone back to my old habbits (have missed 3 classes now). How on earth am I going to get back on track? I know I've put on about 5lbs in those weeks so feeling really stupid (but amazed I;ve only put that on what with the quick ready meals we've been eating, and the choc and stuff). I need a good old kick up the arse. I;m supposed to be going to class tomorrow but am picking up my new car so won;t be able to stay. Am tempted not to go at all, but think that at least if I go and get weighed it'll be that bit done with. What am I doing to myself.

    Consider yourself kicked!!

Go tomorrow - you know it's the right thing to do. Everyone slips now and then, it's what you do afterwards that counts.

It's my wi tomorrow too, and I had chinese/wine with my friends on Friday, a cherry shortcake from the baker on Saturday and Sunday was roast at my Mums with 2 helpings of homemade Tarte Tatin with cream. Am expecting a gain this wee!!!

    C xx
