SW - Mum to be diet

Mrs Mc (aka gettin hitched), 26 August, 2008 at 04:38 Posted on Beauty & Wellbeing 0 6

Hi all,

I am just looking for some advice, i am currently pregnant and over weight, i've actually lost (or last time i weighed myself lol) 2 stone whilst being pregnant - not through dieting however just been lucky i guess! Anyway i was at WW before i got pregnant, but i am wondering if i need a change.

I've heard sw do a mum to be / new mum diet? anyone give me an idea how different it is to the 'original' diet? I'll be looking to join when i've had the baby and was wondering how soon i can go etc?

TIA

Mrs Mc

The diet when pregnant is exactly the same as the normal diet. The post baby diet is only different if you are BFing and then it depends on the age of the baby and the frequency of BFing - you get more healthy extras depending on the stage of BF that you're at.

Oh, as to how soon post baby I think it is 6 weeks if there is a limit at all. I went back both times when mine were about 8 or 9 weeks old as I didn't feel like it before that.

Yep its def 6 weeks post birth before you can go back (I waited 4 months lol).

Congrats on your pregnancy and remember that if you do gain weight its not the end of the world! I gained 1.5stone with my last pregnancy and only followed the slimming world plan 30% of the time! Mind you I did drink 4 pints of milk a day so used all my syns like that!

Sorry to crash but just want to clarify the post pregnancy thing.

If I am a member of SW up to the birth, I have to take a 6 week break before I can go back?

Do they put my membership on hold or do I have to pay a rejoin fee when I go back?

    Thanksx

Yes you do have to take a break of 6 weeks post birth. I would assume (I dont actually know) that they would freeze your membership as they are MAKING you take this break? I can always check with my consultant next week and let you know.
