Swedish speaking hitchers (translation help)

Zo, 5 April, 2009 at 19:54 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 6

I know I asked about this a while ago but I can't pm anyone as it wont let me so thought I would post it on here.

H's friend's baby has arrived now so we'd like to write in english and swedish in the card as the mother is swedish.

Could someone please translate this for me:

Congratulations on the birth of B******. We hope he is doing well and that S**** is recovering well from the birth. Love Zoë & A***

Thank you ?

    I'll bounce for you again.

I'm learning Danish and tried on google translate it in Swedish to see how alike Danish the sentence would have been....answer is nothing like what I've learnt! ?

Perhaps MrsS will pop up later as I know she's Swedish.

There are a few similar words in Danish I think (H had a Danish house mate at uni). I wonder where the Swedish hitchers have vanished to, Sweden maybe? lol

I would love to help you, I could have translated from Swedish to English, but not the other way around (my grammar would be atrocious and wouldn't want a real Swedish person to read it!) I'm Finnish, and the languages are poles apart I'm afraid.

Ok, I have made it sound more swedish but the sentiments are the same. Literal translation is 'Congratulations on the new born. Hope all is well after the birth. Hugs (used as love from) Zoe

    Hope this is ok

Gratulera till den ny födda. Hoppas allt är bra nu efter födsele. Kram Zoe och A
