Sweetie bar questions

*PrincessMeMa*, 6 March, 2013 at 09:28 Posted on Planning 0 4

Did anyone have the following jars from Ikea for their sweetie bar?

they are £1, with lid

I think these would be a suitable size, but wondered what weight of sweets would fit in them... Does anyone know?

Also any recommendations of places to buy sweets cheaply would be fab xx

    Hiya,

I'm not sure whether that would be very big, and also in terms of people getting hands/scoops inside too. My friend used these jars:

And they were a good size. We bought boxes of Haribo etc from a cash and carry, and each jar held just under a whole box of jelly sweets in each one - so the groom and I could snaffle a few leftovers in the box once the jar was full. Smiley smile

I know they are twice the price, but might save you buying a few less. There are some brides selling their old jars on here that you might be able to get a local bargain from. And unless you're going to keep the jars afterwards, can be a really useful thing for a one-off sweetie table.

Hiya. Bookers is a good place to get sweets if you know anyone who has a card. We sell and hire loads of accessories for candy bars. Do have a look.

I have brought these! They are plenty big enough for lots of sweets and good for transporting as they have lids (however the lids are a bit plasticy so I'm going to take mine off and tie organze around the neck of each one). We brought 8 of these and we are going to buy some taller martini glass style ones to give a bit of height to the display.

We have these too...they are plenty big enough. In one, we have 100 mini rolls of Love Hearts. You can easily get your hand and scoops in them. Smiley smile
