Sweetie table containers?

conwc002, 12 February, 2013 at 22:06 Posted on Planning 0 12

Hey

Love the idea of a sweetie table.

But what are you putting the sweets in? Want to do it as cheap as possible as we are on a budget but would still love to do it if possible :-)

I've seen two main styles - one with clear jars that all match - how about somewhere like wilkinson? Or a more vintage, mix and match style. That's what I hope to go for - and I'm hoping between friends I'll be able to round up enough containers - how about things like cake stands, fruit bowls, vases, flowerpots?

Mine were glass jars in 2 sizes from Home Bargains- 99p and £1.49 each I think; most of the stores I've been to recently still have lots of them in

    Hi,

My daughter bought them from ikea and wilkinsons. If you have time you could collect and wash coffee jars etc and then tie bows round the tops.

Depends if you want plastic or glass bowls/containers, but 99p store, poundland, amazon, argos, tescos, asda, wilkinsons etc are all worth a look. Another option is to get them from charity shops. You might not find them cheaper than £1 though. Here are some pics too. Most look better as a mix of sizes & shapes, rather than all uniform, but its a matter of taste. You could also look for 'vases' in search engines.

I was looking at ikea for jars and bowls.

http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/50213546/ - these are 80p and I thought they would be handy as we wouldn't need to make time to fill/set up the table. Someone could just open the lids for the evening!

    http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/10188515/ - these are £1

We are still in the early planning stages so any other ideas would be appreciated! Smiley smile

    Thanks!

Clear jars/food containers from Ikea, poundland etc. if you want to pretty them up, take a piece of ribbon and tie a bow around the jar Smiley smile Don't forget a little scoop or something!

These are the Homebargains ones I mentioned above. As we ordered our stationery from Vistaprint I was able to get some labels for free with our order, so just did these which said 'Sweet Love' and 'Eat Me'

I've been collecting vintage bowls and vases for mine from car boots/charity shops/vintage fairs etc. As I've been getting them as I go along it doesn't feel like I've spent much - probably been around £20?
