I recon 50g max per adult and 100g per young adult/teenager. This work=-s out for us at

    120 * 50g = 6kg

    20 * 100g = 2kg

That said, we're going to need enough to at least fill the Vases and glasses, so perhaps I might need more, perhaps 10-12kg plus some sherbet pretty things.

This is the exact reason why I wouldn't touch a sweetie buffet with a barge pole!!! Have you ever heard the (urban myth) tale about the amount of different germs on peanuts in bowls on pub bars?! An awful lot of children and adults (yes, ladies too!) don't wash their hands when they've been to the loo you know! Yuck, yuck YUCK!!

Could the same not be said for a self service buffet too? people will touch food that they may not necessarily eat themselves. Yet we still have a buffet, especially buffets with crisps, nibbles and nuts etc.

    Just a thought.

    Thanks everyone!

I wanted to know because we're having a sweetie table too lol. It's obviously a very popular thing!! We'll be having scoops/spoons for people to get the sweets out so that there'll be no fingers!! We'll also provide little bags or cups to put the sweets into also.

Paddyandlin- either: let your guests take them all home, you take them n put in your room, best man sorts it (with your instructions)- same as the post box, gifts etc etc

At the end of the night, we took some of the sweets back to the hotel that us and our friends were staying at and stayed up in the hotel bar eating them!

Was the first lot of sweets I'd had since I spend all night talking to people!

We gave some to the bar staff at the venue as well at the end of the night.

I bought all the jars from Ikea fo for months I was giving them away to every friend and family member!
