Swollen feet

Holey, 2 July, 2014 at 14:16 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 9

Sorry for the random nature of this post, but in hot weather does anyone else suffer with hot, swollen feet?

Mine seem to swell and get hot to touch quite easily and just wondered if anyone could suggest anything to help? Sometimes I elevate them in bed but not sure whether this actually helps or not and it's not that comfortable!

Last year I started getting swollen ankles in the summer, which was pleasant. I put it down to getting fat, which I highly doubt is your problem! I too just elevated them and they seemed to go down on their own. I don't seem to have had it this year *yet*. A quick google does say that it's unlikely to be any cause for concern, though.

Yep, my feet and ankles are huge at the moment, I'm guessing it's the heat.

I get really swollen hands and feet when it's hot. When I was in Berlin a couple of weeks ago and it was over 30 degrees my fingers were like sausages, i couldn't make a fist. I don't know what the solution is, i just try and keep them as cool as possible (splashing/rinsing with cold water helps).

I do - just my feet. It happens most on holiday - and not when it's hot, when the temperature drops in the evening my feet swell up something rotten, they look like sausages (I have little skinny boney feet!) and they can be sore to walk on, like as if they skin is too stretched and they feel like they might burst. Lovely innit.

    I'm assuming i'll live.

Well selfishly I'm glad I'm not the only one suffering! ?

As no one appears to have a magic cure I'll stick with hosing them down with cold water.

My yoga teacher said to pop a couple of coffee-table books under your mattress... that way your feet are elevated all night so you're doing it long enough to make a difference IYSWIM.

Yep, me feet and hands swell during hot weather. When it's cold my rings are too big but when it's hot, the rings are tight.

Went on holiday once and my feet swelled up so much I couldn't wear anything but trainers. All my shoes and sandals were too tight.
