Symmetry, does it matter, , , HELP!!

LoveSka, 16 June, 2013 at 18:44 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 11

I need your advice Otters. Does my house have/need to look symmetrical from the outside?

I really want plantation shutters in our living room and bedroom but we have so many bleeding windows in our house that we just can't afford to have them for every window. There are 6 windows alone just in our living room and our bedroom. (Bout 15 more besides). This picture may help, the 3 windows left of the front door are our living room and the above them is our bedroom. Mr Ska says it would look stupid with blinds just on these windows ☹️

P.S, this is an artist impression of a house that is being built on our estate but it's identical to ours.

I would say with something as obvious as this yes sorry. I think it needs to be the the same all across the front. By the way, the house is totally amazing!!!!!!

Its already not symmetrical because the ground floor window on the left is different to the right.

Could you have them on the four windows on the wall on the far left?

it wouldn't bother me, I would go for what I wanted. And as Funky said, it's not a symmetrical house to begin with anyway. (Looks amazing btw)

That wouldn't work SP because then we would have 2 windows with blinds and 1 without in the 2 rooms . Looks like we may have to do some mega saving.

I see what you mean Funky (the window on the right is one of the kitchen windows) . Trust me to like the most expensive type of blinds ☹️

Thanks for all your lovely comments and your valued opinions.

I guess my next step is to get a quote and then cry for a while until Mr Ska gets his bonus at work, although he is already insisting that that has to pay for this years holiday.

I think you may get away with it as Funky said its not symmetrical now. Bit odd but could you try making up some sort of trial to see r doing a whizzy thing on laptop to compare?
