Synchronised Swimming

Isn't this an absolute pile of cr@p? All very skilful I'm sure, but not entertaining to watch, and it's hardly sport, is it?

I rather enjoyed it. It's enormously skilful, and those Russian girls were phenomenal.

I guess it ranks along with Rhythmic Gymnastics and Synchronised Diving on the scale of "is it a sport?"

Agree that synchronised swimming is skilful but blah.

BMX riding - sport or hobby? ?

I used to do synchro when i was at school. i enver got to the competative stage because a) it was too much like hard work, b) I couldn't take it seriously enough ? and c) I hated nose clips.

But the hard work - good grief - before we got onto to working on figures and stuff the warm up was at least 30 laps (of a 33 m pool) of various different sculling strokes - that hurt!

Anyone who had ever tried synchronised swimming would know that it is very technical and very tiring. There are lots of sports that are questionable but live and let live I say!
