Table Centrepieces and names *Inspiration flashes!*

BumbleBrat, 14 August, 2010 at 18:03 Posted on Planning 0 6

As in my other post, I am having candle jars with lace on the tables and possibly window sills etc (Depending on which reception venue we actually choose).

For those that didn't see -

I'm hoping it will all tie in as I would also like to make a few decorations like this with more of my books (So that I can get my H2B off my back about getting rid of them lol) -

For the table names, we were originally going to go for Musicals - Singin' in the rain, Wizard of Oz, My Fair Lady etc.

But hinking we may now go for either famous Authors; Laurie Lee, Charles Dickens, Lewis Carroll etc. with a famous or lovey dovey quote under each name from one of their books.

Eg:

Lewis Carroll - I can't go back to yesterday - because I was a different person then.

What do you think?

I love that idea!! My OH and I are also real book-people and I think those centerpieces are so adorable. It's something I would never have thought of doing and yet it works so well. The little heart decorations from the pages of books are so romantic too.

I love it... particularly the hearts... although something in my heart tells me not to destroy books but pass them on to another reader!

Love the idea, its extremely pretty and unique! I love love the second picture, so pretty and simple Smiley smile

Although i agree with Mrs C and i dont think i could cut them up. How about using old newspapers to do that instead and picking out your favourite books and giving them as favours tied with the ribbon of your colour theme? Saves you pennies too!!

    xx

My H2B is the same, I told him if he carried on moaning I'd burn them in the garden if he wanted rid that much, he soon shut up lol.

I'll be using my old falling apart books for the hearts, hopefully some will be romance books to add to the lovey-doveyness of it.

Forgot to mention, I would also like a couple of these added on each end of our head table and maybe on a window sill or two -

LOVE the hearts....I'm thinking you should definitely go with book names as your table names if you are having those centrepieces.
