Table centrepieces help!

Chelsea2016, 24 June, 2015 at 09:00 Posted on Planning 0 9

Hi all,

I've been reading posts on here since getting engaged and thought I'd now ask for some help after seeing all the great ideas. We're getting married next May and want to name our tables after places we've been together. I'd like to theme the centrepieces according to where we've been but don't want it too look too random or a bit rubbish.

Any ideas gratefully received!

Hi Chelsea - Which places are you thinking of naming the tables after?

Some of them are Bangkok, Las Vegas, San Fran, LA, London, Cologne, Paris and a few others.

    Thanks for replying!

Places you've been together is a really cute idea, I'm sure a friend did at her wedding and had postcards from the different places.

If you did have postcards you could then write on the back why that place is special to you.

    Hope that helps

I've been to lots of weddings where the bride & groom have done exactly that same as what you are thinking.

I think its a lovely idea and people will generally know the reasons behind it.

I wanted to do this until I realised we've not been on enough holidays together! Postcards is a good idea or you could do pictures of the you both at the the places you've been.

Almost exactly what I was going to say! If you have anything kitschy from the location you could also build that in if that's the feel you want to go for.

Thanks for these ideas, really helpful. I was thinking of including items from the places like mini Eiffel Towers etc but wondered if it would look really random at each table and whether some would look a bit tacky? What do you think?

I'd not over-do it. With the odd token piece it could look really cute. Random suggestion - taking Paris as an example. A section of street map from Paris under glass with a mini Eiffel Tower in the right location on the map. A photo and or postcard plus one other item evokative (sp?) of Paris. This could be replicated for each city without (IMO) going overboard.
