I think we've decided to go for fish bowls with calla lillies inside standing on a round mirror plate and a few scatter crystals and candles. Something similiar to these:

Although I haven't yet been able to find an exact pic I like so that I can show my florist - thinking of having two different coloured lillies inside. If anyone else has come across any pics and can post them, that'd be fab ? Sorry to crash the post Chez2k lol.

Same as December1984 but with orchids, no crystals and teal coloured tealights.

We are having them but with greener as well as a calla lilly and instead of candles we are having battered operated lights in the pebbles in the bottom of the bowls and just placing them on round mirror.

Give me a week and you can have a proper pictures Smiley smile

I want something fairly tall or large, as the room we'll be in is quite high-ceilinged so I want the centrepieces to sort of compliment that, but i want to keep the colours quite simple. Something like these 2 is what I have in mind, but possibly a bit taller:

I pretty much just told my florist to 'do something nice' ? I think its going to be bright, informal arrangements in short vases.

Be careful with ones that are high. We went to a wedding and you couldn't see the guest across the table from you. Some guests ended up taking them off the tables as they got so annoyed at looking around them. Rude in one way but understandable in another!

I went to a wedding with tall candelabras and we couldn't see across those to the people on the other side - so it kinda cut the table into halves for conversation etc. Well especially for me as I lip read! But then tall arrangements do look lovely and dramatic!

We're going for the round mirror with tealights & a tall thin clear vase on each table. The venue supplies all of this ? Will just have a single flower in each vase. The venue actually supplies white roses for these if you wish, but it wouldn't go with our theme. Will put down some table crystals too I think.

My thinking was that 'tall' would mean reaching over everyone's heads, so the only thing in the middle would be the actual holder, which I would like to be quite thin, whether it's a vase, candelabra, etc. I have seen loads at wedding fairs, etc, that reach high enough that they wouldn't obstruct any views if you were sitting down.
