Table Dec Help Needed

cheska, 14 February, 2009 at 16:51 Posted on Planning 0 8

Help - I need some inspiration......

We really wanted candelabras on all the tables but trying to get some within a reasonable budget is proving difficult. So have now thought about getting some big vases and putting large candles in them. Then having some tealights round about that. This is instead of having flowers on the tables. As the venue is in a walled garden there is already loads of foliage (sp!?) already.

Has anyone got any pics of anything likes this or similar??

Have a look at these... http://www.onestopcandleshop.co.uk/NEWNLSITE/index.html?lang=en-uk&target=d20.html - These are hurricane vases and come in different shapes and sizes depending on how big you want them.

Or fish bowls with floating candles or glass beads mirrored tiles will reflect the light from your candles

I saw this website posted on another forum and its absolutely brilliant for ideas on a multitude of themes. I've seen some lovely candle displays that hopefully might give you some inspiration!

Just had a thought, but in case you haven't already checked make sure that the venue will allow lit candles (assuming you want them lit) as quite a few don't due to health and safety.

If you can't have candles you could always use flora lytes.. they are fantastic - These are pictures using them

    Hi ya

Can I ask what your budget is for your centrepieces? I have a few companies that hire out candelabras for £15-£20 each.

Ooops forgot about this thread, thanks ladies for your help def given me something to think about!

I do need to check about candles, think its ok though as have seen pics of previous weddings and they have had candles.

Ruth - if everyone who is invited can come we would have 14 tables plus top table. Realistically I would have thought I would need about 10. Would any of the companies deliver to NE Scotland? Got a meeting with the venue in a few weeks so can find out what other brides have done in the past.

    Thanks everyone!

If you can't have candles we use floralytes to light displays & centrepeices, used with the florists gel they give a really nice effect. They come in a wide range of colours and also the gel comes in a range of colours. We use clear gel quite a lot and add the coloured light as I find it gives a better effect:
