Table Name Ideas??

SusanneLJohnson88, 8 August, 2011 at 10:46 Posted on Planning 0 16

Hello,

I'm just getting into the latter parts of planning my wedding with just over 70 days to go. So far I have been very organised however I have hit a wall and I don't know what to have as my table names. I have 12 tables plus the top table and I would like something unique. Im having the theme of Navy and Sparkles so I'd quite like something to go with that theme, can anyone think of anything?

Thanks in advance for your help

Susanne xx

P.s. Good Luck with the planning for all your weddings!!

You could name them all after precious stones and metal or maybe names of stars?

Where is your venue? 70 days I make that.... October?

We're getting married in the New Forest and the front row of tables are named after trees of the New Forest, and the second row named after animals you might find in the New Forest.

As much as 'unique' goes I dare say that there is very little new under the sun, which someone somewhere hasn't used before - so I wouldn't worry about trying to be different for the sake of it.

Navy (blue) and sparkles... the first thing that springs to mind is bodies of water, so perhaps you could have some pretty bodies of water from around the world (Lake Garda, for example) or from countries you might have visited on holiday?

I've heard some great suggestions for table names in previous posts on here, cars, holiday destinations, herbs, films, cartoons to name but a few but I'm finding it hard to think of a theme that is personal to us, so will be watching this thread with interest in the hope something new comes up! x

We're thinking of going for the 5 great lakes as they match in with the colour scheme nicely and Canada is very special to us.

    Hi!

nice theme Smiley smile we where going through this problem the other day about what to name each table as we wanted something a bit different to just table 1 ect!

So after an evening of playful ideas and silly suggestions we have actually decided to name each one after places we have been on dates/ holidays and special places that mean things to us Smiley smile. Very personal we thought Smiley smile

The idea about the precious stones is a good idea thought as it fits into your theme very well!

    xx

I've named my tables after different types of Butterfly.

We have a bit of a Butterfly theme going on in the background so this fitted well.

We named ours after places we were due to visit on our honeymoon - Kuramathi, Pinnwela, Sigiryia, Polonnaruwa etc.

I like the stars idea, you could print onto navy card and stick crystals on the card to make it look "starry"?

On another note, we have named ours after Oasis songs as it is a special band for both of us

Top table is wonderwall and then we have rock and roll star, talk tonight, she's electic etc :-)

We've named ours after Nelson's flagships because we have a portsmouth/red white and blue-ish theme and our venue has links to Nelson

    Natch our table is Victory

Why navy and sparkles? is there a reason for that theme? Not that I'm criticising, just trying to think outside the box and wondered if the table names can be related to your reasons for having that particular theme?

Maybe play on the Sparkly bit and think of associated words like Spangles, Sparkly (obviously), Glitter, Shimmer, Shine, Dazzle etc. ?

Our table names are going to be after Northern Hemisphere Constellations, with the top table being Ursa Major.

For emaxple our top table is You had me at hello - Jerry Maguire And the kids table is: Too infinity to and beyond - Toy Story
