Just wondering what brides were doing with table names? Are you just numbering them or giving them specific names?

That's what my OH said. I said that really wasn't the point. Firstly, it's because I find it lovely that there's someone out there for everyone. Match.com used to have an advertising campaign with some unconventional/alternative people featured who were stuck together, unable to stop hugging. I used to turn to him and say "Aaaww, that's us isn't it?". Secondly, I wanted to send up the old fashioned idea of who uses lonely hearts columns. I'm always listening to friends complaining about their dating lives because they go on drinking/clubbing nights out to meet a partner and hasn't worked but if you try and mention Internet dating to them they say it's all very well for you to do that but they couldn't possibly. Well, I did it and I'm proud but I know other people who successfully but lie about it because they're ashamed. The stigma needs debunking but better to do it in a light-hearted way.

We are having a dream team of table names from OH's football team. At first I thought no way! But I don't have a better idea and football is a big part of his life and I enjoy going to matches with him. Plus he and the best men are having such fun deciding on a dream team I don't want to shatter that lol!

Our daughter had their favourite films but displayed in empty DVD boxes like this one:-

But on the table plan, they had a main character from that particular film to get people guessing and to create a talking point when they sat down which worked quite well.

I am going with numbers - personally, I think table names are bit cringe...not sure why, but they bother me a bit.

We had tables named after members of Chelsea's European Cup winning squad. Many of our guests are big football fans so they thought it was hilarious.

My OH is a massive petrol head so we are probably going to have ours named after nice cars and then have models of the cars on the tables instead of the names!

    We are having mythical creatures:

Brownie - They are very small dwarf faeries who always appear as males with coal black eyes. They wear little suits of green, blue, or brown, and small caps made of felt. Their ears are slightly pointed and they have long, nimble fingers. They love to adopt homes and take care of them for the payment of a warm room and their favourite foods, which are milk, honey, ale, and cake.

Ghillie Dhu – They are guardian tree spirits who are disguised as foliage and dislike human adults, although are often kind to children. It is thought that the tooth-fairy is one of these creatures. They prefer birch trees to all others, and jealously guard them from humans.

Kelpie- Supernatural shape-shifting water horses, they are usually malevolent and have an insatiable appetite for humans. They haunt the rivers and streams of Scotland. They are probably one of the best known of Scottish water spirits and are often mistakenly thought to haunt lochs, which are the reserve the most dangerous water horse of all- Each Uisge.

Leprechaun - They are solitary faeries and tricksters who love to play pranks on humans. They are always seen wearing green clothing of costly material and green tri-cornered hats. They're mischievous, but will be helpful to humans if approached with respect. They're quick-witted unless they are drunk.

Merpeople - Commonly called Mermen and Mermaids, depending upon their gender. They have the lower bodies of fish and the upper bodies and heads of humans. They appear as adult males and females of great beauty, but no children have ever been slighted. They are usually friendly and are slow to anger.

Moss People - Are both male and female and have large butterfly wings attached to lithe bodies that look mostly human. They are very beautiful creatures, though hard to detect in the wild, where they tend to hide in moss and other dark foliage. They are shy of people and very whimsical. Moss People are good luck to have around.

Loch Ness Monster (‘Nessie’) - The most common speculation among believers is that the creature represents a line of long-surviving plesiosaurs. The loch itself is the biggest in Scotland (over 22 miles at the longest point) and as such could house such a monster. Although there have been many hoaxes surrounded Nessie there is still great belief in her existence.

Pillywiggin - Seasonal faeries associated with spring. They are small winged creatures who resemble Pixies, and they are very playful. Their sole purpose seems to be to tend to spring. They live among wildflowers which grow at the foot of huge oaks. They have been seen mimicking human behaviours such as weddings and dances. They are quite diminutive and like to ride bees from flower to flower.

Selkie – They are seaside faeries native to the Hebrides and northern Scottish islands. They appear as seals with some human characteristics, but legend says that they can shed their sealskin and appear with perfect male or female forms which are very alluring to young men and women. When they tire of their human mates they will leave them to die of broken hearts.

Shellycoat -Small faeries that dwell in pools of shallow fresh water and in woodland lakes. They are fish-like in appearance but have huge mouths and huge eyes. They have very round bodies with very few scales and are usually dark red or purple in colour. They bob near the surface like large beach balls, usually with only their big eyes showing. They are not evil, but their pranks are sometimes cruel.

Alven - Creatures of the moon under whose light they dance and play. They are water faeries who live in ponds, lakes, and rivers. They cherish night-blooming plants and will harm any human who attempts to pick or destroy them. Fish are their only known enemies, and they prefer to live in water enclosures where there are none.

Cait Sith - Literally translates to fairy cat, the creature was said to haunt the Highland region. The cat is said to be as big as a dog and completely black, apart from one white spot on its chest. Like a real cat it could be ferocious if stumbled upon.

Tylwyth Teg-Welsh faeries who gather fruit and flowers for each of their guests and entertain them with the most exquisite music. They are thought to be small in stature with golden hair (a common trait in many faeries) and live under hollow hills and in deep crevices. Associated with them are the usual traditions of moonlit dance, the supernatural passage of time, the stealing of children and the substitution of changelings. This is the top table. OH is Welsh.

I haven't decided yet but I'm thinking of going for Disney/Pixar films. I've bought some chalkboard table signs from here: http://millwind.co.uk/products/wedding-table-numbers which means I don't have to make a final decision until nearer the day.
