Table names - care to share?

I like that idea Captain.

Initially our idea was to name our tables after our favourite wines and have a bottle of that wine on the table. Other idea was to name the tables after our favourite comedian's surnames and have a quote about love/marriage... OR to name our tables after favourite chefs (I'm a big foodie) and give each guest our favourite recipe from that chef.

I'm still undecided as to what to go for!!

I think the NY streets is a fab idea! or you could mix it with restaurants you ate at, sightseeing things/points of interest etc. Think it is a really good idea, and would be a nice nod for your family as well!

Spangles, your ideas are fab - no wonder you can't chose! The recipe would be such a good take home thing for people wouldn't it?

We are naming ours after bands we have seen together. A lot of our friends there have been to gigs with us so we thought it would be quite nice, our relationship was sort of built on these!! Our table plan will then be a festival poster with the top table as the headline act, the date of the festival our wedding day, etc. prettywild are designing it for us bespoke, am very excited!

NY street names sounds like a fab idea.

We're having Tottenham Hotspurs legends, OH is a spurs fan and that's his one and only imput, lol. He's been looking for black and white pictures of the legends in their playing days which we'll print with some info about them.

And Grace - my OH is a huge Spurs fan too but I veto'd anything to do with them!! (poor boy)

We're going to number ours but on each table there'll be a photo of us holding up that number. We're having a pre-wedding photoshoot with the lovely Murakami lot so hope to get them done then. We'll display them in vintage style frames.

I think thats a fab idea. We are having names of gems on ours as I love all things that sparkle

We are just having randon ones.

On our top table is me and OH.

So we have 2 tables - with our Family names on which is where parents / brothers / sisters and nans will be seated.

Then we have prime location - between the bar and buffet

Drinkers spot - directly infront of the buffet

Kayl's girls - my 4 closest girlies and their partners

H2B's Number 1 fans - his men from work and BM

Still got more to invent but so far so good!

I love the number idea - with your holding the numbers - sounds fab, and could easily get other members of the brial party involved!

I think that's a fab idea CaptainRae. We are thinking of Rugby League legends as we're both mahoosive fans x

still not sure but was leaning towards same idea as cricket bride, as it would tie in with our photos we used on invite. This is not the ACTUAL one on invite, just one of the mock ones.

We've gone a bit twee and named ours after our pets! We couldn't think of anything else!

We're having the names of the places we have lived together, so starting from uni, travelling, parents towns and London where we live now.

Been to three weddings this yearand they all opted for their favourite films so we soon scrapped that idea!

One that just came to me...

Famous couples followed by quotes they have made about love / relationships / marriage.

Not sure how easy they would be to find...

We're thinking of having places we've been on holiday together with the honeymoon as the top table.

Feels like it at times!!

We rescue small animals, gerbils and hamsters. We've had 10 so far so not anything major. I know a breeder and if she has anyone who needs a bit more one on one attention then she gives me a call, and the odd Pets at Home rescue too.

We haven't taken in any new boys since January though and all our oldies have sadly passed away so we're at 2 hamsters and 2 gerbils at the moment and with the wedding and hopefully children soon after I think this will be it. ☹️

We only had 4 tables so didn't bother naming them but on the morning of the wedding my dad quipped

' So top table, family table, drunk (friends) table, odd table (friends they didn't know)'

Bless you - what a lovely thing to do! So sorry about losing your old pets though flower. Just think when you do have kids once they are a wee bit older you can have lots of animals again!

The NY name idea is fab! We're also having Spurs legends, from Mr B's lifetime, and the top table will be White Hart Lane (our ground). I've taken over the planning pretty much, so it's nice OH has some input!

Our friend's had animal names for theirs last year, as their honeymoon was a safari, so there was Lion, Tiger, Crocodile etc. x

Like Grace, ours is sport related - we are having famous boxers (cos OH loves watching boxing) so Muhammed Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, Ricky Hatton, Mike Tyson, etc.

Am displaying the boxers name and black and white picture in a photo frame x

I think OH is hankering after a dog once the children are here as they always had dogs growing up. Joy...!!

There are some great ideas here! Kayl i really like your idea and Doodle, I think your dad is a genius! Im quite tempted by that. We've been to weddings beofre and joked that we are on the 'boozy table' or the 'best view' table! the guests are going to rename them, why not preempt them!

we are both quite into our booze and so we were thinking of real ale names but were discussing it the other day and thinking about pub names or our regular pubs we go to, the majority of our friends will all be able to reminisce about diferent times in each of them!

Jeebus! I can't believe it's only a month!! Ours is 2 months on Saturday. Flown by so quickly huh??

I'm OK thanks flower - going to look at wedding rings tomorrow after work.. Got my hen do in a few weeks... also doing a ten mile walk soon for a local hospice... Aaaand get to try my dress on for the first time at the end of the month.

Oh and had my make-up trial yesterday. Will try and upload pics once I can get hold of my Mum's camera with the pics on. x

He's made a list of players that are legends to him and now he's just searching the internet of pictures he likes of them so we can save them and print them out closer to the time.

I'm not sure what he's doing about the info i've left it all up to him.

We're also having a cake topper made, me and him in our wedding gear standing with the chirpy, lol. Oh and our colour scheme is blue and white, lol.

Planning on having sweetie names at the moment we were thinking of things like:

Jelly beans

Smarties

Mashmallows

Harribo

That sort of thing and having the sweeties at the table, lol plans may change tho but im liking this idea at the moment mite just be cos of the sweet tooth both me and the OH have hehe x

I like the sound of the NY idea - original.

Not too sure yet, but was thinking as OH is a Kiwi and her family will be travelling over to the UK - maybe calling the tables landmarks in Auckland or something similar. Will always be a talking point on the table if anything else. Failing that - just plain old numbers!! haa

We are being totally corny. Our tables are Love, Bliss, Devotion, Cherish and Adore. My OH half cringes every time he sees the cards but his only thought were Oldham Athletic "legends", like there is any.

We were considering our birthstones and our childrens birthstones but we only have 2 children so fell 1 short. x

Ooh thanks guys, glad most of you think it's an alright idea. we are using the actual street signs as the images too so should look quite cool!
