Table place names?

bgirl81, 1 April, 2013 at 19:01 Posted on Planning 0 6

Although I'm having place settings to say where I would like people to sit, I still want to have it quite informal, so was only going to put first names.

But I have a few people with the same first name so would I just put their surname initial, and I have 2 people with same name and first initial too, or will it be obvious as their partners name will be next to them?

Also with our grandparents, and parents do we put mother of the bride etc? Although this will be the first time most of our family meet so they won't know their names.

And one more, do we put our names or bride and groom?

I might be over thinking this, but don't want to look like an idiot or confuse the situation......

I'm putting full names as I have a few Richards and 2 of them are Richard C.

I think I will put names of family and our names rather than our 'titles' for the day, too.

I think have Bride and Groom for yourselves - what other day will you be able to, 'eh? Might as well make the most of it!

I think everyone else should have their names, including the parents. If you wanted to put Grandma Pat and Grandad Bob for example instead of their full names, I think that would be cute x

What will you put on your table plan? will you put full names on there? If so you can just do first names on the placenames?

Sounds like a pretty similar situation to us. We are putting people on particular tables but not allocating specific seats. Ours is an informal do, hog etc, but we will have quick toastc etc before eating so want to make sure everyone is present and has a drink. We are just using first names and surname initials where necessary. Nothing more should be needed as guests will recognise their own plus ones names :0) xx

Oh and for us and parents, we are also just using first names..... Unless I decide last minute to go down the Mrs S route!! ;0)

I put full names on the table plan and our names as opposed to bride and groom,

on the actuall name tags on the table I think I just did first names. If I had people with the same name I would face included thier initials as well.

I'm using full names personally as I have two Jenny's. It's your choice entirely, though. Do what you're comfortable with!
