Table plan!

Tashy24, 1 February, 2014 at 09:08 Posted on Planning 0 11

4 weeks to go so just started making our table plan, what a head ache!

cant decide whether to include surnames on the table plan display or not, I think not because it looks more relaxed/laid back but we have 3 Alex's 3 Steve's which I'm now worried will look silly and might be a bit confusing if we just put first names! Place cards is just first names. What is everyone else doing/did do?

I was thinking the exact same!

And do you write mum or your mums name for example?!

    Hello date twin :-)

Ours was a massive headache! Who to sit where, who not to sit with who...I'm glad we've finished it!

We have just first names for their place settings and full names for the seating plan display as we have several Marks, Daves, Lisas etc we don't want any confusion x

We have included surnames, helps to save confusion.

Do you not have any multiples of the same names?

We started by using the hitched table planner, really good and then we put the pain in the bum people on separate tables.

Then we have couples then bunched them together with people they know.

Dont like mixing everyone up... It's just weird.

To add, took us about 20 mins.

You could always use the first letter of the surname if that is easier? Unless of course some are the same for that too!

I did this on my friends table plan and place settings, she wanted a quite informal feel and had a shabby chic theme for her day so it worked quite well. For my brothers wedding they were going for a more formal feel so we included surnames on the table plan but just first names on the place settings. I put "Mother of the Bride", "Father of the Groom" etc on the wedding parties place settings at my brothers wedding.

Still very undecided about my own! ?

Seen this ^^^^ at a lot of weddings last year and it really did make a difference, there were no guests were wondering around the tables trying to find their place. ?

Having surnames on your table plan is not going to make your day more stuffy or less laid-back. It just means there's less confusion and people can find their place more easily.
