Table Plan Question

Zoexx, 7 April, 2012 at 19:45 Posted on Planning 0 6

Hello all! I have been off the radar for a while due to uni, work, moving house and wedding planning-so hello again ?

This may be a silly question.....should i put people's last names on the seating plan or when I have double names just put the initial of the last name?

Thanks x

I'd put last names too, cos even if you know that there won't be more than one person with the same name at your wedding, your guests might not, so it'd just make the whole looking-at-the-table-plan quicker and easier for guests.

I'm putting last names as I feel it's more formal - plus we have a few friends with the same name

I put last names too. What I wouldnt do and someone has recently done to me at a wedding, is lengthen or formalise peoples names, eg if someone is called Ben and the B&G decide to put Benjamin, or Dave to David etc. My name is Jo and I havent been called Joanne since school, it was even Jo on our own wedding invitations OOS etc and this wedding table plan and name card had Joanne on it. I dont even know how she knew it was my name, I could have been Josephine! It annoyed me anyway, you can be over formal with things I think but second names are fine. (sorry mini rant there!)
