Jo.1981, 24 June, 2008 at 13:19 Posted on Planning 0 7

Does anyone have any tips on how to work on the table plan? I have the top table sorted but just thining of the other tables makes my head spin.

i would say - put people with their friends - you know that way they'll have a great time ;-)

nothing worse than making polite chitchat for the duration of the meal with a total random that you'll never see again!

we separated everyone into who we classed as young ie our frends, younger family members and then the oldies? ie, uncles, aunts friends of my parents and did it that way, so, everyone might not know each other but they were roughly the same age group on each table. that gave us a starting point at least

we've not sat down and done it but will probably do old, young, same experiences ie uni/home friends. Haven't figured out how to get the languages mixed in but we'll see!

We're having long tables rather than circular ones and we're sitting people next to who they know. I would hate to go to a wedding and sit with someone i didn't know and so i didn't want any of my guests to feel the same.

We kept family groups together and then looked at friends. If we had funny numbers that didn't quite fit on a table then we tried to make two medium groups with other people rather than one big one and then just two on another table.

I made two different versions which helped - using www.toptableplanner.com which was amazing!
