Table Planners - DIY

SaSaSi, 14 January, 2011 at 11:51 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hello ladies,

Has anyone made their own table planner? Any hints, tips or advice? I want a nice one that doesnt cost the earth ....Im thinking around £30 is plenty for something Im not bothered about keeping, framing or anything like that.... colour scheme is lipstick pink, silver, ivory & charcoal grey...to be honest Im not that bothered on having lipstick pink on it!

I seen one http://shop.confetti.co.uk/product/silver-pearl-btfly-table-planner-kit-a2/101707/ on confetti (heaven forbide! lol)

Has anyone made one up like this before? Was it hard? Im not quite sure what it means by cut out for 12 but available for up to 15?

Were inviting 160 so guessing 15 tables is fine - 160 includes our 12 at top table.

I think DIY may be the way to go so any last minute seating arrangements can be worked with so Im not worrying about things arriving on time....I live in Northern Ireland and post can take longer.

Any hints, tips or ideas would be much appreciated!

Hi, I'm pretty sure you've just messaged about my table plan on ebay ha. The only problem I would say with DIY is that it will be the last thing you want to think about 2-3 days before the wedding. Next day delivery is insured so is a money back guarantee by the royal mail if it doesn't arrive in time. and if you wanted to order earlier then you could purchase replacement pieces which can be sent out after the table plan so you can stick these on yourself if necessary. I think if you want to go down the DIY route then you would be best to do it from scratch rather than a nearly made pack like that from confetti. You would have to get the basics like a board, either canvas or mount board and then the colour co-ordinating card and ribbon and bits and bobs to decorate it. If you have made your invites and everything else this shouldn't be too much of a challenge but you could always try a mock up and see how this turns out.

Oh! Haha! I must log on!

I would prefer it made for me so the replacements you talk about sound like a great idea - I just know from previous family weddings guests have mucked around up to 2 days before hand!

    Thanks!

I ordered mine from ebay too and I don't think it was much over £30 anyway - I loved mine!

So for me it wouldn't have been worth the effort! I'll hunt down the details of the seller I used and let you know if you want?

ETA: This is the one I ordered: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Wedding-Table-Plan-A2-Romance-Collection-/200562170786?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Celebrations_Occasions_ET&hash=item2eb26fdba2

I def would like someone else to do it for me .... so extra replacement bits & bobs may be the way forward...

I havent made anything for my wedding - ive even paying the stationary company to make my invites! lol It would take up too much valuable time & I just want them done right!

Thats really pretty RaeF! I clicked on it & had a look at the sellers stuff but I want aomething sparkly, she didnt seem to have anything glitzy Smiley smile

I made ours as we were so last minute with sending out our invitations we would never have found someone to make one in time and I was also worried about last minute changes. I was really stressing about it and had no idea what to do. In the end, inspiration struck and our florist supplied us with some curly willow which she put in a glass vase (foc) and I used cream card with the table and guest names centred down the middle and I found some coloured skeleton leaves which matched our theme and stuck 2 or 3 onto each of the cards. Each was strung with a ribbon and hung from the curly willow. It sounds a bit odd but the end result was lovely. It was very simple, didn't take long and cost pence! It also fitted in with our autumn theme as it looked like an autumnal tree!

I made my sisters for her wedding, I got everything from Hobby Craft and dont think I spent anymore than around £20.

The large bit of card (the base) was only around £6 I think
