Table plans and post boxes....

hellyf, 10 November, 2008 at 22:53 Posted on Planning 0 12

How much do they cost for someone to make them for you and how difficult are they to make yourself?

We have made our own invitations, using a VERY simple design (ie print our names date and weding invitation on the bottom, and glue some ribbon around the inside edge and glue on a wedding dress shape and morning suit shape on) and now we are looking at table plans, place names and possibly post boxes, now i'm wondering how much do these cost to buy as they look like they could be more tricky to make than our invitations!

any advice would be great

thanks

    Hi,

I sell table plans and prices star from £35, this includes full personalisation of the plan and decoration, you can see a selection of my plans on my site http://www.angelweddings.co.uk/tableplans.html the decoration of the plans can be customised to match your invitations at no extra cost.

Place cards start from 75p per card and they include decoration and printing of names, the price varies depending on size of place card and the final decoration.

sorry i don't make post boxes at the moment, but I am sure other HIB's will be able to help with pricing for you.

feel free to drop me an email if you would like a quote or have any questions, ****@*************.**.**

Both seem easier enough to make but depends on how hands on you are, guessing from making your own invitations it sounds like something you like doing so I would say give it a go. It is to do with saving money then these two things would be great to make your own and very cheap.

    Table plan

    1 x Large Card

3 x Large Card Cut Up Smaller Squares/Circles for each table.

Use something like butterflies on the edge of each table and in the corners.

    Very simple and extremeley cheap

Post Box - as per the previous message. Get a box wrap it up and cut a whole. You could put yours and your partner initials on it?

Here is a great website that you can buy them from though

    Wedding Post Boxes

Have fun making them if thats what you decide to do.

P.S Buffterflies are available from any stationers, or from a number of national wedding show suppliers

I bought my post box from e*bay, decorated with the ribbon, and colour scheme that I wanted. It cost me £17.95.

Hi, i think the postboxes are easy to do yourself and if you have already mastered the invites i say go for it ?

The table plans are a little more tricky but if your a crafty type again i would give it a go as you will save money in the long run.

We have a few if you want to take a look for inspiration www.lilypondweddings.com and there are a few of us that do these if you do decide to buy elsewhere.

I didn't have a table plan, but did make my own post box!

I got a big box, cut a hole in it and wrapped it in paper! Then tied a ribbon round it, stuck letters to it (made by Drunken Castaway on here for me), and card round the hole to make it look neat, and I was really pleased with it....

I made my own, can't exactly remember how much they cost but i know it wasn't much. I think my table plan might have cost about £8 and the post box about £5.

For my table plan i got a piece of really thick cardboard from Hobby Craft and just printed onto sheets of gold coloured paper where people were sitting. Then i just put it into a clip frame and stood it on an Artists easle which i borrowed of H's grandad.

For the post box i ordered a blank box which came flat packed from Zoe who posts on here which i then decorated myself

Thanks, neither of them were particularly difficult to do so i'd say that it's definately worth having a go on your own first before buying one.

My friend gets married next june so i've offered to help her do hers too.

Definitely have a go at doing it yourself! I did, don't have any pics to show though.

Post box: box from ikea 49p, covered in wrapping paper £2, die-cut letters £3.

Table plan: frame from ikea £1.89, wallpaper free, cardboard £1.50, paper free, small bows £1.

Ellas events post box is brilliant and really easy to decorate - and I just bought a big blank canvas and decorated it myself for the table plan - saved a fortune!

you can buy cutters that cut perfect circles to make it easier too, i have one that is for a sizzix machine but i think you can get others too if you dont have a sizzix! sarah x
