Take That fans - thoughts on Robbie.

Clare _ M, 11 December, 2008 at 10:48 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 27

The rumour mill is going in to overdrive about him rejoining the band. As much as Robbie was always my favourite I don't really want him to rejoin them. I understand there were a lot of issues when the boys got back together and he's never been very good at dealing with stuff but I do feel it's far too late for him now. It's nice that they're all friends again but they should stay that way.

However, I'm sure if he did come back I would probably get over it pretty quickly! ?

I was going to post about this today. I really don't want Robbie back, I think they're doing so well on their own. Robbie was quoted as saying he would love it but has other things to do first, though there is talk of a one off special gig isn't there?

The boys are fine on their own as far as I'm concerned, I think it would eventually fook it all up for them if he went back. Do you think they'd want him (Gary especially) back full time? I don't ?

He gloated about his own success, refused to have anything to do with the first reunion. His career is now in freefall and oops, ohh, you know what there's a bandwagon with Take That painted down the side of it - i'll jump on that....

I was a latecomer to the Take that thing first time round and the first concert I went to was just after Robbie left so he's never been a big deal for me. I liked quite a lot of his solo stuff but that's from a while ago now.

I'm surprised they're having so much contact with him to be honest. Maybe they are just really nice guys and they want to help out a former mate.

Gary and Robbie were looking very cosy at the Arsenal game a few weeks ago!!

I used to be a huge Robbie fan but really wouldn't want him to rejoin now. At the moment, it's 4 lads who look to be having so much fun second time around. I think if you add Robbie into that it would just become all about him and his super sized ego. He had his chance to rejoin a couple of years ago when they first reformed and he turned it down.

I hhhhhhhhhhhhate Robbie Williams - the talentless bug-eyed freak.

I didn't much like TT first time round, and that thing with Peter Kay at the weekend made my arsehole clench, but I do like them this time round. The four of them seem very comfortable in their grownup skins, and it strikes me that Robbie isn't and would spoil the dynamic.

I can't imagine he will rejoin full time, I think they've all moved on too much but I think a one of gig could be very likely.

Gosh, I am utterly torn about this. I lie awake at night wondering and worrying about the outcome.

I loved Robbie solo and wouldn't like him to rejoin TT who are really a different band now second time around.

It seems to me that Robbie suffered being famous and he's better off out of the limelight chasing UFOs. He's still one of my top five allowables, shaggy beard or no shaggy beard.

Oh yes, that goes without saying. However he now has to stand in the queue behind Mr Donald.

Oh no. I don't want Robbie back either. it will spoil the good thing they have. I adore Take That, ever since they started but i never liked Robbie. That's bad i know. I always thought he was a self loving twat. Sorry Robbie fans.

I'm torn too. I think, ultimately, he shouldn't come back. He was such an arse to them when he was doing well as a solo singer, and Mark and Gary were floudering a bit.

Now they have superstar status he wants a bit more of the action. I've always been a fan, so its really weird to actually be a fan of something that almost everyone seems to like. I was ridiculed at school. ?

I've always worried about Robbie. He is a liability and I have often wondered about his mental state. He never seems happy. He seems like a very sensitive man and he has never managed to settle and be comfortable with who he is. He's always a caricature of himself on interviews or documentaries and that isn't the case with the other 4.

I think the four man band seem so comfortable in each other's company, and I'm not sure that the same would continue if Rob was to return.

That said, a cameo on the tour would be superb.

From what Ive heard (second hand) is that he wont ever be re-joining the band but will prb be joining them for one concert.

There are alot of things said about him after he left the band and the other day I heard some stuff about how he was treated in there, it was awful. That said, they have all made up now and its all in the past.

I dont rate him as a singer that much (although great entertainer) but I htink he is a nice person.

I loved Take That when they were around the first time and Robbie was my favourite. When he left Robbie was still my favourite and i loved all of the stuff that he did when he was writing with Guy Chambers since then i think he's lost his way a bit.

I don't think it would be beneficial for Robbie to get together with the lads again. When they first got back together i felt as though i was being unloyal to Robbie likes TT's new stuff but i've got over that now and i love TT the Man band perhaps more than i liked TT the boyband.

I think that if he did go back to them people would probably say that it's to get in on their renewed success which for Robbie i don't think it would be the case, he can be successful enough in his own right.

I think that Robbie needs to get some new stuff recorded though soon because at the moment to me anyway he's coming across as a bit of a weirdo recluse the only thing he ever seems to be in the news because he's seen an alien or something just as strange rather than because he's doing something he's good at.

He's number 1 on my list. I come from Stoke and he was in a pub by us not so long ago, just wish i'd have gone out that night and bumped into him. ?

How could you say no to this

I think they're doing fine on their own and the cynical side of me says that Robbie only wants to re-join because his career doesn't seem to be going anywhere at the moment.

I have been a huge TT fan from the very beginning and remember how gutted I was when Robbie left.

I also remember how gutted I was for TT when they did the reunion documentary and he didn't show up. They all just sat there looking deflated.

I am still a fan of Robbie's solo stuff (although it has been awhile) and saw him at Knebworth.

But TT do not need him anymore - I just can't imagine him back with them doing all the dancing and stuff. He just doesn't fit.

I still like Robbie but he is not the cheeky chappy he was in the early days - he seems far too serious and, well, weird to be a part of the band now.

Nevertheless, like others have said, if he was to do a one-off gig I would be first on the phone trying to get tickets.

Three times last year and two next year - I can't miss any TT gigs!

I think they are doing really well now without him, and if they had him back in the band now, it would become all about him, and spoil what the others have built up without him.

It might be ok if he were to sing with them on their old songs, but would he really be content to take a back seat while they sang their new stuff, which has been written with their four voices in mind and not his?

Good point - would he just disappear off stage when they do the new stuff?

    ?

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! You can't say that ?

I Looooooooooove Robbie! I don't think he wants to go back, he is fine. Leave him be. He likes being anonymous in LA, he doesn't need to go back to Take That.

Don't get me wrong, I love Take That too, I am seeing them for the 5th time next year ?

If Robbie was to do another tour next next year it would sell out within minutes. it's just a shame that the people who go to his concerts don't buy his CD's.
