A little gutted as our already small budget has taken a big knock this week so I've had to rethink everything, yet again. I'm sure you are all sick of me keep changing my mind by now, but I promise, I'm finally settling on things because of how good the price is (& has to be!)
First thing's first. My Dress. The Budget Dress. I know it isn't traditional but by golly it was a bargain & is soooooo comfortable. It looks a little plain at the moment but my idea is to add some diamontes to the ruched bandeau part of the dress for a bit of bling and a lilac flower belt around the waist. I'm also toying with the idea of having it professionally dyed ivory as our colour theme is the trusty purple & ivory but I have read throughout wedding forums that it's ok for the bride to be wearing white even if the colour scheme is ivory (??)
The Wedding Ring Dilemma. Given the shape of my Engagement Ring, the Wedding Ring hunt was turning out to be a flaming nightmare & way out of our budget due to the need for a notch in the Wedding Band. However, after trawling the internet looking for inspiration & ways around it, I contacted a jeweller to ask if they would change my Engagement Ring so that the setting for the diamond was higher to allow for a standard Wedding Band to fit. Here is a snippet of my Engagement Ring at the moment & the Wedding Band. The Wedding Band will be 5mm wide & plain on the outside but will have Andy's initials hammered on the inside 'AJW' with two of those hearts either side of it. Believe it or not, this adjustment & the Wedding Ring works out cheaper than the specially shaped Wedding Band!
We have decided to scrap a professional photographer & reply on our guests to take some decent shots of the ceremony just like we are for the evening do. We are still in two minds about the reception venue at the moment due to cost but as we are getting married in a registry office, if we need to change the date, it shouldn't be too much of an issue. We did change it from 27th August 2011 to 20th August 2011 to accommodate the preferred reception venue but now we have an ever dwindling pot of cash, that reception venue looks out of the question. I'm not going to let it get me down & as I believe everything happens for a reason! & I would actually like to revert back to our original date of 27th August 2011 as the Bank Holiday Monday follows it & my parents are paying for a week in Ibiza for us starting 31st August 2011 which works out better!!
