Tan Lines! :(

hollyhollytree, 26 July, 2016 at 15:12 Posted on Planning 0 5

Please help, I'm having such a meltdown! I was out in the garden last week trying to tan my back in the lovely sunny weather. I was wearing factor 50 as I'm quite fair, went out at 3pm for only an hour. Thought I was being really sensible!

It wasn't until the next day I realised I must have missed a patch of skin when I was applying suncream. It's right in the middle between my shoulder blades and it's now a big red splodge.

Wedding is in 39 days and my wedding dress won't cover over it. I'm having my hair down but any gust of wind and it's exposed!

I'm having a major panic, I look like such an idiot. What do I do?!?!?!?!

Firstly, relax. You have over a month. That is plenty of time for it to fade on it's own!

Once it has calmed down a bit, try exfoliating to rub off the burnt skin which will help Smiley smile

Exfoliate with something gentle like a sugar scrub then keep it moisturised.

It might have faded by the time you get married Smiley smile You could always top up the different with a tinted moisturiser.

I have vest strap marks on my shoulders, t-shirt sleeves on my arms, and a pretty dark neckline on my chest.... and a strapless dress.....

I've been putting factor 50 on the tanned bits and trying to frazzle the white bits to hopefully ease the distinction lol. It has faded and blended a bit, but with just over 3 weeks to go I'm not sure there's much I can do about it. Have been out in teh sun a lot lately and just didn't think, so it's built up over time.

One patch as a one off should fade fairly well before the big day and it will certainly be less obvious in a few days, and if there is still an obvious mark then just get someone to put a bit of foundation over it. I'm sure no-one will notice on the day ?

It'll definitely fade in that time. Try using aloe Vera gel whilst it fades to calm the redness and stop it from peeling x

3 weeks to go and it's still very noticeable Smiley sad

I think I'll just have to pray that it's not a windy day so my hair covers it. I've tried everything to even it out. GRRRR!!
