Tatto Removal

Sparkly Bride, 26 September, 2011 at 18:48 Posted on Planning 0 15

Hi there just wondered if any one knows of any really good makeup for covering tattoos. I have had about 9/10 laser removals and am hoping to have some more in before the wedding but its soooooooo expensive. My tattoos have faded massively but look like large bruises so am hoping they can be covered. Any ideas on something that actually works xxxx

Ive covered mine with a MAC concealer (cant remember which one but it did say on it for tattoos) you could slightly see it still, it is a heavy black tatt though.

I've been looking for something similar to cover a large birthmark on my upper arm, found these so far

    http://www.veilcovercream.com/

    http://www.dermacolor-camouflage.com/

    http://vichyconsult.co.uk/local/en-gb/dermablend/vichy-dermablend.aspx

    http://www.covermark.com/

Should do the trick if the tattoo is pretty much gone already. I'm just a bit wary of it rubbing off on the dress so haven't tried any out yet

I didnt know there were special tattoo covers now!

Just been googling and they come with setting sprays so it doesn't rub off on your clothes

    Hi Sparkly Bride....

I have been doing the exact same thing!!! I have just had my last treatment prior to our wedding and it hasn't completely shifted (I doubt it ever will). Anyway the guy doing my treatment recommended Tattoo Secret (www.tattoocoverup.co.uk) and I have purchased the Tattoo Camouflage Kit. It's pricey at £27.50 but it arrived last week and it is fantastic! My tattoo was still partially covered after a bath and a shower!

Like you I have spent a fortune on laser treatment and will probably not bother with anymore now I have this kit. Well worth the pennies.

    Hope this helps,

    Sarah x

Aw thankyou so much for that! I was hoping someone was having the same thing and know something that actually works. I have tried a few kits of ebay etc that have been rubbish. I definatly dont mind paying a decent amount if works. It will come in handy for nights out as well. I would love to have a few more sessions but moneys so tight with paying for the wedding. I would probably cry on my wedding day though if they were noticable. Did it cover really well?? and colour match well?? xx

Ahh I am so glad someones posted about this I was only thinking about it the other day! I have one on my wrist that I'd like to cover up for the wedding as I don't think it screams elegance so was going to try and get some make-up to cover it with. That kit sound really good Sarah!

The kit is fab!!!! I am really, really pale and it has covered my black tattoo quite well. It comes with 2 neutralising colours which you can use on their own or blend to get a good block cover then it has 3 colours which again you can blend to get the perfect tone for your skin. Up close and personal you can tell there is something there but from a short distance you cant. My OH was amazed! Plus it has a finishing powder which makes it stay put!

I'm not going to bother with any more laser treatments now I have this!

Like you guys I have used other kits in the past but none of them have worked as well as this one!!

    Good luck folks!!

    Sxxx

Hi, another option is to see if anyone in your area does airbase makeup. Its silcon spray on foundation that celebrities use. My cousin does it and I had it on my wedding day. It can also be used to cover tattoos. Its heat, water and wear proof. Here is an example of a cover up my cousin did.

    Hi

I am a professional make up artist and I use AIRBASE and is fantastic for tattoo cover up and also for bridal make up, as its silicone based and THE LONGEST LASTING MAKE UP EVER. :-)

Otherwise if that is not available I use Tattoo Secret. - it does not come off onto your clothes either.

    Hope that helps
