Who is after some new ink? Any ideas what you might get? I know there are a few of us chavvy slappers on here [;-)]

I want sooooooo many more but H gets first go as his sleeve needs finishing a mere four years after it was started. I love skulls so would love a day of the dead skull but are they a bit overdone now? I saw these below from a local shop and loooooved them.

I need to get my half sleeve finished first, but I am planning an Avengers back piece.

My H's turn next, as he needs his sleeve finished. He had it started about 7 years ago, so he's a bit slack at getting it done (says she, who has taken almost 4 years to get her half sleeve done)

i also want a nightmare before Christmas "scene" wrapping around my leg (bottom half, so full leg).

Since having my half sleeve started, I only want big pieces. Seen some gorgeous ideas for small designs, bit never occurs to me to get them done

I am by no means inked as I only have one tiny tattoo in a very discreet place, but I want another one. I do need to have it in another discreet place as even at age 31, married with a baby, my mother would disown me if she knew I had one.

Those in the know - I have a tiny butterfly on my bikini line. I want some kind of star symbol to represent S. Would it look stupid joining it up to the butterfly in some way? Maybe coming out from one of its antennae? Or should I get a completely separate one on my hip?

Knees I am glad I am not alone! I only have a tiny tat too. A cluster of small stars of my bikini line for the same reason as yourself, if my mother saw I would be disowned! haha. I would love more but they would need to be in a discreet place. I really want an elephant tattoo.

I also want a ton more. I want my arms covered so I'm planning to fill in the gaps mainly with flowers - probably lilies, roses and orchids - but I also want:

The GNR logo on my left upper arm made bigger and bolder

My Dharma Initiative one possibly added to with the numbers or maybe wording "we have to go back"

A chain necklace with keys on it, maybe on my left lower arm

I have an angel that's a bit blurry with age, so I'd quite like another more realistic angel - maybe on my left lower leg. I also kind of want another Virgin Mary - I absolutely love religious iconography!

I am. I'm a Christian (Church of England), have been my whole life. I have tattoos of a cross, an angel and a Virgin Mary but I think people tend to assume they are just fashion, cos people I know in real life are often surprised to find out that I'm a Christian. We are having a religious wedding ceremony - my H2B is agnostic, and was happy to go with the religious ceremony. I don't go to church much anymore, but it's still an important part of my life.

Ah I see, I did wonder because you felt strongly about sugar skull tatts if you were religious yourself to have the above.

with that in mind what are your views on people with cross tattoos for fashions sake?

I'll let you off then ?

I have a tattoo board on my pintrest, I think I follow you Mini. I will be getting a tattoo in the near future for my Nan and Gramps. His favourite flower is a blue moon rose, and Nan is a hummingbird (former diabetes uk symbol).

Lolz, no, it's fine Smiley smile

I do think cross tattoos that are just fashion are a bit dodgy. But cultural appropriation is a really difficult issue and I don't know where one draws the line. I do hate Celtic and tribal tattoos when not on people of that ancestry, and I now think that Chinese symbols are probably a bit inappropriate too. But then I once got told that wearing a rosary as fashion is wrong - I'm Christian and all my dad's family are Catholic, so does that make it okay...? I dunno. I suspect I overthink these things sometimes.

Sorry, not tattoo related, but this conversation reminded me of when I worked in a jewellers and a grown woman, maybe in her 40s came in looking for a new necklace. She said she was 'bored of the boring cross and wanted one with the little man in his underpants on it' I damn near threw her out!!!!

    Anyway, back to the tattoos..........

Mr C wants a large shoulder piece but can't decide what. I would like one too but I am not good with needles or pain so wouldn't be too big!!

Spent £300 getting my one and only tattoo (wrist) lasered to remove it pre-wedding. Started a year in advance, and it was only half gone by the wedding date.

Looks a complete mess, and the lasering has removed my skin pigment. I'm white, with a bit of a wedding-related-tan still. The skin that was lasered didn't pick up any colour at all in the sun, so it really highlighted the mess that it is now.

Ah, that sucks. I think lasering is still a bit of an inexact science. I can't have it anyway as I have keloid skin, but a lot of what I see and hear of it would put me off.

It does suck! I'm waiting until I have put aside another £300, and will then try to target the remaining black ink, just to try and tidy it up. It'll be less noticeable if I can get rid of the black - it'll look mostly like pale skin patches / scars, which won't be tooooo noticeable unless I'm tanned.

I've got a lot more i want done, same as OH. Money is our only issue or we'd be there every week haha.

Want a half sleeve done, few on my leg..a nice backpiece. Want an osprey related tattoo, a few more music related ones. I'd like something on the back of my neck too maybe a realistic spider or a snowflake.

I also want an owl haha, always loved owls and actually most birds...

Have any of your tatts keloided (is that a word) I've for dreadful keloid scarring on my shoulders and my leg tattoo has raised scarring currently. I'm worried about getting more that they will keloid too.

today is officially mini asks inkedd questions day. Maybe we should have our own thread.

Ha! Some of my tattoos have a bit, in that they don't feel completely smooth to touch and they itch occasionally. Only some though, I dunno what the deciding factor is in whether it happens or not. The scars from surgery on my leg are very lumpy, even though the most recent one is almost ten years old. They itched a lot until a couple of years ago. Apparently if you do a lot of massaging newer scars with oil it won't be as bad, but I dunno how effective that is.

This is my next one to link my thigh, side and back tattoos. My youngest daughter is like a dandelion seed at the min as she's just come back from Italy, flew to Iceland yesterday and heading to NZ in August, so she's my dandelion seed and I'm the one with the roots.

    Loving your ideas everyone.

I am thinking about something like this but in black only. But not sure where to have it:

I'm just so in awe of any tattooist who can replicate water colour and even though my back is a little tender as this will be the fourth 'layer' I think I can grin and bare it to have something that beautiful.

Either this one or the other. Still trying to work up the courage and figure out where I'll have it. Also want wedding date somewhere subtle eventually too.
