Tattoo's

Joss11-10-09, 8 May, 2009 at 15:41 Posted on Planning 0 4

Hello Everyone!!! Hope you don't mind, but this comes in two parts..... (Cheeky I know ?)

So do any of you lovely ladies out there have any "tat's"??? If so, are they visible with your dress on? If so, are you leaving them to be on show or are you planning on covering them?

I was asked this question the other day and I must be honest I hadn't even thought about it. I've had my tat for 11 years and it's on my right shoulder blade and it's a bit faded from the years. I intend to get it recoloured when I'm back in South Africa, but that's only after the wedding. I'm seriously contemplating covering it up but not because I don't want people to see it, but because it does need to be touched up. I can't wear a bolero jacket or any other form of material cover as firstly they will not go with the dress and secondly I'm marrying in middle October in South Africa. Still spring I know, but the average temprature is 28 degrees. It's a mid afternoon wedding so it's going to be at the peak of the heat for the day.

So I'm thinking of camouflaging it. I've been researching it a bit and I've found a few products. Wanted to know if there is anyone here that's used tattoo cover before or if anyone else is considering using it. If so, what you found and where?

?

My BM has a tattoo running down her spine and she had it covered up for my wedding. If you are wanting to have it covered i can try and find out what she used. To add, i didnt ask her to, she just didnt want it on show at a wedding

I'm not getting my tattoo covered. I love it. A tiny heart on my left shoulder blade.

I've got one on my left shoulder blade. and i will have another one before the wedding, a collection of stars on my back, which will also be visable.

im not covering them up, but it is personal choice.

if you want to cover it up, then that is up to you. My friend had hers removed, well attempted, didnt work very well, left bad scars.

Oh no no no!!! Sorry to hear about your friends having such bad scars now because of it.

I LOVE my tat. I have no intentions of having it removed. Infact, I will get it redone just after the wedding. When I started losing my weight, I promised myself that I will be getting another tattoo on my lower back (something I've always wanted) as my reward. I'm 2kg's away from that goal so I'm going to be tattoo hunting soon :-) If my tatttoo on my shoulder blade was in better condition (like I say it's faded over the years and has a bit of sun damage too) I would wear it open. But, I know it's going to bother me if it's on show on my wedding day.

I'm just looking for a tattoo cover that someone may have used and knows how effective it is.

I was in the same boat - I have a full back piece that I'd ruined over the years with the sun, which I regret now ... but I showed it with pride on my wedding day anyhow ... Its part of me and I wouldn't have covered it up, even if it was tiny.

I've now got a cover up tattoo across the whole of my back, but I'm pleased in my wedding photos and videos it has my 'old' tattoo...

Is it really going to bother you that much for it to be on show? I would imagine any cover up is going to be pretty rubbed off by the end of the day anyhow, or possibly really obvious unless you can get one that is identical to your skin?
