Tattoos

Love them or hate them?

I love them.

I'm getting a new one started this week. Started out because I wanted to cover my scars but has now managed grow into one that covers half my torso.

Flash me your tattoos, or tattoos that you want.

Love them when done properly and on the right person. I would look ridiculous with a tattoo, but my H's are hot.

I dislike a lot of tattoos out there, but think some are very cool, it depends on the tatt and the person. I have one, it's only a teeny one though, and it's meaningful to me. (The fact that I have it rather than the design.)

Its hard to describe what I'm having, its a swirly feathery butterflyey thing, kind of with elements of these pictures but not actually any of these, will include black and white ink .

I have four. I like them. I don't have pics on the iPad, but I have one on my lower back, one on my hip/belly at the front on the left, one on my wrist and one on my ribs, which is the words to the chorus of our first dance x

Not a fan really and never have been. I can (and do) appreciate the designs but wouldn't like one myself.

    LOVE tattoos.

I have a few, and many plans for more. Will add pics when I get on my laptop.

My H has loads. Love a tattooed (and pierced) bloke.

I like them but only certain tattoos and when done well and tastefully.

I am a complete wimp so have never got one but I really do want one. I love white ink.

I'm a bit indecisive too so I'd be worried once I'd had it done I would change my mind. I'd quite like some symbol of our wedding date, not necessarily the numbers themselves but just something. I'd also quite like a tiny paw print tattoo for the cat I had when I was younger and the cat I have now. If I did get tattoos they would probably only be seen if I was in a bikini or something, I'd want to be able to have them covered if I wanted.

I like tattoos if they're done well. I'm too scared to actually get one though.

I would love something like this, but I don't have the guts, and I'm not thin enough either.

I love them (when done well).

I have a very small one on my back, kind of where my kidney is I suppose. It's a semi secret- my mum hates tattoos and it would break her heart if she knew I had one.

If I could have another life & it wouldn't break my mums heart, I'd be covered in them! Or have a sleeve at the very least!

I've got a secret tattoo as well. It's silly really, I'm 34 and I've had it for 10 years but my mum would be really disappointed if she knew.

I've got a Martini glass on my lower back/hip. It sounds a bit strange but I got it at a time when my friends and I were obsessed with Sex And The City and used to drink Cosmopolitans so every time I catch sight of it reminds me of that time in my life.

Love tattoos as long as they're done well! I only dislike the indian ink or cheap house party ones that are all smudgy etc.

Only have a pic of 4 of mine have 3 on my back as well. Want more as soon as the weddings over and the moneys better and will be getting a half sleeve on my left arm and some on my legs I think. All taken when just done so that's why they're a bit red and swollen!

The King John one is epic!

Have you seen that programme being advertised on c4? Katie piper (love love love her) is presenting it and it's scout tattos and body mods gone wrong. The advert promises lord if stretched ears that have split *shudders*

I've got one on my back/shoulder of a Mackintosh design. My mum hates tattoos but had to admit it she liked it! Sames with other tattoo haters I've met.

Second one I got done when I was totally steaming drunk on the way home from a club in Canada. It's on the inside of my leg and I woke up in the morning, felt the pain and just assumed I'd twisted my ankle.... Oh no it was worse than that! It's a big heart in a swirly design - looks like the Quiksilver Roxy symbol. I'm a bit of a fud!

I saved this ages ago and would like something similar to cover up my tattoo which is boring stars up my back which I had when I turned 18. I haven't been to see if it is do-able don't really have the time or cash.

I like them, on most people, I just don't like ones done by not very good artists.

I have 2 at the moment

    Paw prints

    Cheshire Cat

and then I want these two, but the quote one I have NO idea where I'd have it.

    Penguin

Alice in Wonderland Quote (can you see there are 2 themes...)

I love them on other people when done well. I go on and off about wanting one done. I want to get a daffodil in memory of my mum but can't seem to find a design that I like enough and I don't want to just have any old one. I may have a OH related one after the wedding then see how I feel after that. I keep chickening out though cos I'm rubbish with pain and hate needles. I just need to do it one day and stop making excuses!

Design your own. So mich better than finding one, and getting it copied.

Not a fan of those tattoos you pick off a board in a tattoo parlour either. It seems tattoo "artists" in my town can only do butterflies or stars...

I think they are beautiful but wouldn't have one myself. Mainly because I change my mind all the time and would probably decide a week later that I don't like it!

Yeah I keep thinking this although I'm not arty but my OH is so I could ask him. I keep looking on google images but nothing has wowed me yet. I kind of fancy a watercolour style daffodil, would a good one be able to do that type of thing?
