Tattoos

**excited**, 6 January, 2009 at 18:51 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 7

Hello all.

I always wanted a tattoo as a teenager but never got one....the thought hasn't entered my head again until very recently.

I would now like a tattoo on either my wrist back or side.

Do any of you have any tattoos in these places and if so would you mind sharing them with me please.

Have any of you ever had a tattoo and then regtretted it?

I realise it is a big decision and cannot be taken lightly as this is something that is for ever but just wanted a little inspiration if possible.

Thanks. x

I have a tattoo on my back and one on my side. The one on my back is a sun, but in black, and the one on my side is three cherry blossoms with a Japanese style wave effect around them (in colour). I have three altogether and haven't regretted any of them, but for each one I chose a design, decided where it was going to go and then waited 6 months to a year to be sure that I still liked it. Also none of mine can be seen unless I'm wearing a bikini or my top rides up - which makes a huge difference to me as if I'd had a tattoo that was visible all the time (e.g. on the wrist) I would regret it (in situations like job interviews, when wearing a nice dress, etc). In fact, my mother only knows that I have one!

    I have two tattoos.

One on the top of my right arm which is like a celtic symbol type thing with three different coloured lines that represent me and my two kids.

In November I had a heart and moon design put on the inside of my right wrist. It gets covered up by my watch when I am at work so is very rarely seen. It hurt quite a bit and still has not healed completly. Also the tattooist that I went to was not going to do it if it was my first tattoo but I think that is because with the first one you don't really know what to expect.

Like Diefenbaker I chose the designs and spent an age making sure I still liked them. I think I took just under a year to get the one on my wrist done. But I'm glad I waited and didn't just go on impulse as there was another design I had really liked for a long time that I changed my mind on and I would have regretted it if I had gone ahead with it rather than thinking about it.

This is my one, it took me a year to decide which I wanted and where I wanted it

It is above my right hip as you look at my back and it came out bigger than i originally planned as the detail wouldn't be seen if it was smaller. It's around 7 inches by 3.5.

I have three Japanese symbols down the top half of my spine. They cover up nicely if I want to, but also are easy to show off. They didn't hurt as such as they were directly onto my spinal column and not on any flesh. Because of the nerve endings, all I got was intense vibration (not bad I tell you!)! My symbols read 'friends forever' and look fab. If I live long enough to regret getting it, it'll alsways remind me of why I had it done.

Just be sure you like what you get!

I've got an art nouveau style seahorse on my lower back, it took me years to find a design I was happy with, and now I don't even see it except rarely in the mirror! It shows if I wear a bikini or a short top and low slung trousers.

    I have three tattoos.

First one I did quite a few years ago, I wanted something different and it took me 15 years to pluck up the courage, it is Tony the Tiger standing on a football - I love it, have never regretted it. It is on the back of my shoulder.

The second is a name which I do regret and I am having it covered over with a big cat next month, it is on my lower back.

The last one is a smiley face with Jimmy written underneath. I got it done about 4 months ago and I loved it then and i love it even more now and am so glad I got it done. He is on the top of my arm as I wanted to look at it and I cant see the other two.
