Tea / Coffee

We knocked this on the head for these reasons, hate not paying for what isn't used an more importantly, it equates to 8 bottles of wine.. If people want a hot drink, they can order it from the bar.

We did, and I think most guests did - but ours was March so on the chilly side (I say chilly - it snowed in the evening). Not too sure it'll go well for a summer wedding?

Have you checked with your bar to see if they'll serve it later in the evening? I know for drivers or the older generation, they prefer a hot drink later on in the evening rather than cold soft drinks.

Yes, could speak to our venue about serving hot drinks if paid for by guests at the bar (its a marquee so not as straight forward as other venues!).

I think I thought it might be a nice break for some guests from drinking alcohol

Chedi - Not sure I want to do that, as then it has to include our evening guests and our numbers go up even more (and spend!).

I'm a tea addict so tea is being offered as a welcome drink (there's also going to be Pimms) as well as after the meal. I am fully prepared to be the only one drinking it! ?

? I didn't mean pay for their drinks. Just to have it available from the bar for guests if they want it instead of alcohol/cold drinks.

Im having tea and coffee after the meal, like the bit of break in between from meal and evening starting.

my dad likes a coffee as a bit of a break. and my uncle said same thing as having a hot beverage in between will get them ready for the night ahead.

paid by the flask, cant remember how much it is per flask, one tea and one coffee. my dad questioned about when it runs out as much get charged, wedding co-ordinator said most times they will just keep topping it up and no one realises so they think its ever lasting flask or no one is drinking it. which is alright, as they will get the money from the alcohol anyways.

I think it's a bit off for a venue to charge £2.50 pp for what will be a teacup size cup of hot drink, that's crazy. After all the money you'll be spending on the meal you think they could throw in a bit of tea and coffee for free eh!? I know that's not how venues work though!

I'll be having coffee, tea and petits fours served after the meal, hopefully will be a relaxing time and nice end to the meal/break from drinking. I'm hoping to then have a pot of each put on the table with the evening nibbles, which will please the oldies - although I'm a tea jenny and probably will want a cup too! Don't expect many people will go for it then, but want it to be an optoin.

Yes we are having tea and coffee after the meal. think its only £1 something but I think its nice to have the option after. I assume we will just pay for the whole amount of guests even if they dont all have it.

I'd ask if there was any movement on price fortea and coffee, or have it available for people to buy in the. Evening. It is a nice finish to a meal, but 2.50? What kind of tea and coffee are they serving?!

As our wedding is quite early - 12.30 - I wanted something inbetween the wedding breakfast and the evening starting.

We are bringing in caterers for our wedding, but the cost of serving tea and coffee is working out at around 90p per person. This include hiring in cups, saucers, teaspoons and milk jugs. We are providing teabags, coffee, milk, sugar and a hot water urn and our caterers are serving it for us.
