Tea Length dress, can anyone help?

hannnnah, 17 February, 2014 at 10:29 Posted on Planning 0 13

Hello,

I'm having problems finding tea length wedding dresses. Does anyone know where i should be looking?

These dresses are along the right lines:

    Hi Hannnah.

Tea Length dresses are becoming more popular now and a lot of wedding dress shops are starting to keep more of these in store. You won't get anywhere near the number of 'traditional' dresses but the three shops I went to each had about 10-12 tea lengths. Justin Alexander make some lovely tea length dressess, although as a JA bride, I'm a bit biased (mine is the 8465)

I also loved the Romantica Bali.

Have you tried searching on Google? Most of the pictures will tell you who the dress designer is and what the dress is called.

Good luck with your search and come back and let us know if you find any you like

Whereabouts are you? I got mine at a local bridal shop but they didn't have it in ivory when I first went in, it was dusky pink and in the bridesmaid section. When I went back to try it on Saturday they had loads of tea length dresses in the bridal section. They didn't have any 6 months ago. This is mine.

    Hi there,

I'm not sure where you're based but some tea-length dress shops (both online and South-East based) that I've found are: Vivien of Holloway, House of Mooshki, Kittie and Dulcie, Joanne Fleming, Fairy Gothmother, Cutting Edge Brides, Whirling Turban, Fur Coat No Knickers, Oh My Honey, Honeypie Boutique, Look Darling, Dolly Couture, and Candy Anthony.

Hope that helps! I bought my dress from House of Mooshki, and the head designer there is really helpful and friendly. Good luck!

I'm pretty sure you should be able to find them in most wedding shops? Perhaps phone around Bridal shops local to you and ask how many they have in stock to try on and then make appointments with those who have plenty?

Depends when/how you want to buy your dress really.

Tobi Hannah specialises in short and tea length dresses. i got my dress from her and she is a very nice young lady and is very honest about what looks good on you and what doesn't. she can custom make a dress for you too, so that it incorporates different ideas from things.

She has even written a book about shorter wedding dresses. She has a studio in London where you can go and see her and try on her dresses. Also all her samples to try on are in every size. So there is no trying on a dress that is 10 sizes too big and pinned onto you in a way that you have no idea what it would look like in reality. Her dresses are all the right sizes for you. She is brilliant.

Thanks so much everyone! So many great suggestions which I just couldn't find when googling. I did find fairygothmother, but didn't know there were so many other companies! I am slowly working my way through them now - very exciting!

Jus to add another one to the mix, I am having my dress made by these guys, who also do a few tea length dresses. I am biased but the work is lovely, and they are made to measure so you can make any adjustments you want.

Hi everyone, thanks for all your help! I really loved the Sincerity 3700 dress which I first saw on pinterest and managed to find one nearish to me in my size on sale for £500! So I got it! I'll be adding a tulle outer skirt and having it shortened a bit. Phew. It's a massive relief!

My dress is tea length and for a while I was really struggling to find what I wanted. Most bridal shops I went in had one shorter dress and because I knew exactly what I wanted if it wasn't right on to the next shop I went! Just keep on looking and you will find it!

I always recommend Joanne Fleming for tea dresses. Do a quick google on her, her work is beautiful.

when I got married tea dresses were relatively rare, I can think of only one other bride on here with one when I got wed, therefore the dress shops had bugger all in tea length.
