Tea length dresses

Savethedate, 25 May, 2014 at 13:07 Posted on Planning 0 35

Hi everyone,

after a few ideas really, my dress is tea length and I'm having trouble finding some really special shoes, is anyone else also having tea length dress or found some fab shoes they could share?

heel hight needs to be low but other than that open to ideas!

thank you! X

I wore shoes I already had.

Irregular Choice are a popular option on here.

Are you looking for a quirky statement shoe or something traditional? I've gone for a pair of Vivienne westwood's and I love them! Can't wait to wear them Smiley smile

I'm not even a shoe person but totally fell in love with these emmy shoes! Ha, at over £700 they were waaaay out of budget, I'd never have been able to walk in them anyway! Rachel Simpson has some lovely styles, but I settled for a pair of kitten heels from dune that I'll be able to walk in and wear again! (Can't find a flash, sorry!)

I haven't ordered my dress yet but I want tea length. I'm trying one on this Wednesday. I was originally thinking of a statement shoe but I don't know if that will work with the dress I'm trying this week, which is a bit more traditional wedding dress than I originally was intending, despite being tea length. I'd be very open to suggestions for a purple shoe, though!

Im having a tea length dress and have been on the lookout for shoes. Its so hard with tea length cos they are going to be on show. I love the louboutin shoes shown above - Iv tried them on but struggle to walk in high heels. Im more leaning towards having colour statement shoes but have such awkward feet (3.5 and really flat so walk out of most which arent adjustable)

There was some gorgeous golden IC shoes on a different post the other day.

Statement shoes don't have to cost the earth. Mine were £40 from next and got so many compliments.

I would definitely look for something with a closed toe and a T strap or Mary Jane - tea length dresses are modelled after 50s styles after all, so it makes sense to me to have shoes that follow that same theme. But I might be a bit of a vintage era obsessive!

Thanks so much for the suggestions!

    Ddpunk those shoes are gorgeous!

i'd really like some with a t bar but open toe to keep in with the 50s theme, don't think budget will go to jimmy Choos tho!

other tea length dress ladies are you doing a 50s theme throughout your wedding? We re not really I just loved the dress, Annie by so sassi if anyone was interested!

If l had chosen for tea length then l would have gone for Rachel Simpson or Iregular Choice something like that. I ended up going for a full length dress, as we are getting married in Las Vegas then l went for some silver sandles for comfort and because of the heat.

I've got a short dress - knee length. So I bought some classic stilettos from Whistles in silver. Classics that can be worn again. I was tempted to go with pink to match my flowers, but then decided to go with silver as it's a bit more versatile.

If you want something classic Whistles were great, LK Bennet is also really good.

My daughter wore long Doc Marten boots with a heel with her T length dress her bridesmaid wore ankle heeled Doc Marten boots and they looked great. Her wedding wasn't really 50's themed although we had afternoon tea for the main reception. The main theme was Dr Who !!

If we ever save up enough to go on honeymoon to Vegas and have a blessing, I'm totally wearing a trashy dress and stripper shoes. Preferably a tutu skirt of some sort.

For some daft reason I bought my shoes way before I was even proposed to or got a dress! lol. I wanted a long dress but my fiance suggested trying a tea length dress. What I'm trying to say is, would these shoes go with a tea length dress? They are from BHS and cost £40 ?

    These are mine from clarks!

I went for comfort, thought they looked a bit vintage, nude to make my legs look longer!
