Tea or Coffee...

Becklarrr, 4 October, 2012 at 15:24 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 39

Which are you?

Personally, can't stand coffee, love the smell when it is from a coffee shop but just don't like the taste! And can't function until i have had a cup of tea in the mornings!

Oh tea, definitely. Love the stuff. White, no sugar please.

Not adverse to a Costa every now and then but it's probably only a couple of times a month. Could never drink an instant coffee. I need sugar in my coffee too (or two shots of caramel from Costa!).

I'm a big coffee drinker, but I can only drink real coffee, black and strong (although I do like cappuccinos and lattes). PIL only have instant coffee in their house, so I'd always go for tea. I even have my own special mug in work which has a plunger on it so that I can drink real coffee in work without having to make a full cafetiere.

Tea with milk, no sugar. I have coffee occasionally but try to avoid drinking it regularly.

I don't drink tea or coffee. In fact, I don't like hot drinks at all. Much to the disgust of my tea addict family who drink nothing but tea (literally)

I also really dislike the smell of coffee, it makes my stomach feel all strange and empty.

Coffee every time. I don't drink tea unless it is as weak as dishwater (and actually looks a bit grey).

I don't like hot milk though, so none of your latte rubbish.

? First time I've ever 'known' anyone to be the same.

I always feel like such a weirdo when people offer me coffee or tea and I say no. You'd think I'd just told them I eat babies for breakfast.

I have about one coffee a week on average and that has to be instant or from a place like Costa etc. Proper coffee without lots of milk and sugar is horrible.

I've never had tea but used to like dunking rich tea fingers in my mum's.

    My H drinks neither.

My H is the same. With one exception - he drinks my grandma's tea. Firstly because she puts on a hurt face if anyone refuses food or drink in her house (and I mean a proper puppydog look that makes you feel like you peed on her dining room table and flung the sodden tablecloth in her face). Secondly because she puts a lorryload of sugar and spices in it!

Coffee all the way, though only real coffee, I'm not a fan of instant. Tea is vile.

Although if I turn one down I always get told you'll like it eventually.

I need a cup of tea to start the day, milk and one sugar.

I do love coffee as well though and tend to drink that at work, bizarley I have to have that with no sugar.

Coffee. Any sort except really cheap instant stuff. Has to be black, no sugar though. I need a cup in the morning to start functioning.

As for tea, I can't stand even the smell of the stuff. Ugh!

I don't like coffee. I drink tea but I actually prefer peppermint tea, I started drinking it in an attempt to help my IBS and after a while found that I actually prefer it to normal tea. And Liptons Moroccan tea is even better.

I'm just tea. I really want to drink coffee, its so much easier to make compared to tea bags - but I just cant do the taste. Once in a while I'll try it again incase I do like it - but nope, still dont!

Tea. I don't mind coffee, but tea is always my first choice. I will drink most brands, but I love Teapigs English Breakfast! Not a fan of Earl Grey; it always tastes like there's washing up liquid in it.

I like them both at different times of day/in different situations. I love proper coffee but we dont make it at home, we improvise with the likes of the posher brands like milicano etc.

    It depends.

At work it's Redbush all day with the occasional cup of proper coffee to prevent me falling asleep at my desk!

At home mainly tea (white, no sugar) or the odd coffee (Millicano black, no sugar) particularly if i'm having trouble 'going'!

This thread reminds me of a line from the film Mona Lisa. Bob Hoskins is fresh out of jail after a lenghthy stretch inside and ends up in the Savoy whilst waiting for a client......The posh waiter asks him if he wants a tea which he says yes too...."Lapsong Souchong, Early Grey or Jasime Sir?"....The east end boy replies...."nah, TEA!!!"

Wow.. I shouldn't be surprised at the number of tea drinkers here, should I? Just, if you were to ask this question in north america the split would almost definitely go the other way.

I used to hate coffee.. but then I worked at starbucks through university and we had to drink the stuff at tastings so we could tell the coffees apart. And then it slowly happened, I became addicted. I still like it slightly sweet and milky, though. But tea? it REALLY depends on the kind. I don't care for english breakfast or the like, but I sometimes like earl grey, and I tend to like rich specialty teas you get at really fancy hotel afternoon tea.

I would even take an instant coffee over tea most days, though I am now a happy owner of a nespresso machine, which I've been known to take to work with me if I know I'm going to have a long day.

Tea. I like a proper brew, strong, leave the teabag in it for a couple of minutes before adding milk.

I like the smell of coffee but can't stand the taste of it.

I drink a lot of peppermint tea. Can't stand earl grey, smells of socks.
