techie peeps, may i ask a question?

Evening all,

My H bought me Sims 3, but we cannot use it on our Mac, as its not got the right process or something. We need a puter/or laptop with an intel processor apparantly. i know its seems totally extravagent to buy something just to play a game, but im hoping this can count as future xmas pressie too!

these are the system requirements for Sims 3,

Laptop - XP (Service Pack 2)
- Processor: Pentium IV 2.4 GHz / Athlon XP 2400+
- Memory: 1.5 GB
- Graphics GeForce: G- 6200 / Radeon mobile 9600
- Graphics Ram: 128 MB

Laptop - Vista (Service Pack 1)
- Processor Pentium: IV 2.4 GHz / Athlon XP 2400+
- Memory: 2.0 GB
- Graphics: GeForce G- 6200 / Radeon mobile 9600

- Graphics: 128 MB

my question is would this laptop play it or do i need something bigger?

I don't think so. Your game requirements need a processor with 2.4 Ghz and that one only had 1.6

I would say you may need something slightly more powerful as that laptop only has a 1.6Ghz processor which is lower than the minimum. However, I run Sims 3 on a laptop running Vista and mine only has a 2.Ghz processor and it runs its fine.
