Terrified of being ill on wedding day

Melyn, 24 February, 2019 at 11:34 Posted on Planning 0

I have had the worst cold/flu for the past week, I have a 22 month old child who is also ill and we both feel awful. My partner and I are getting married on Easter Sunday, and my son's 2nd birthday is a few days before. We're organising a weekend of fun the weekend before his birthday but I really don't want people to come over my house on my son's birthday in fear of both me and my son getting ill on my wedding day. I get simple colds for a week at a time, and I feel horrendous and so does my son, he's been attached to me all week and I don't want this on my wedding day.. Is it bad for me to not allow family to visit in fear of getting ill? Thanks..

Does your son go to any type of childcare setting? Unfortunately he’s at that golden age where they pick up every bug and germ going. If he does go to a childcare setting then I don’t think you can say please don’t visit etc because of illness. I say this because he more than likely will have introduced the germs through nursery etc anyway.

I got married 5 weeks ago. I have a weekend immune system anyway due to a medical condition and I picked up a horrendous ear infection 19 days before the wedding. I genuinely got to the point I never thought I’d be well enough. However I did improve and to be honest sheer adrenaline gets you through the day!
